QDX JS8 Setup

Trying to get on JS8 with my QDX and cannot seem to find a suitable radio option as one would use with FT8. Anyone know what the deal is?

Thanks in advance!

If you can't find QRP labs, setting it to Kenwood TS-440S is supposed to work. My copy of JS8Call (v 2.2.1-devel) has "QRP Labs QCX/QDX" as an option.

Settings, Radio tab, Rig dropdown.

The correct answer has something to do with which version of hamlib is being used, but I can't see how to determine that from within JS8call.

I believe you are correct. Thank you. I will try it and report back!?

..well, tried TS-440S to no avail. Went to the JS8 download page and could not find v 2.2.1 and am running v 2.2.0. My I ask where you got v 2.2.1?

Thanks!

I am using a TS-480 in my settings at 9600 baud.

v. 2.2.1-dev is available for Linux, and has the Kenwood TS-440S option. TS-480 should work as well. I use v.2.2.0 in Windows and the TS-440S option is available there, so maybe you need to upgrade HamLib. Also, be a little bit patient as you set it up the first time.? It seems to take a few minutes for the settings to take after you enter them before the CAT and PTT buttons work. Also set up the audio inputs and outputs before you click OK.

Daniel and other distinguished gentlemen,

Appreciate the pointers and I was successful getting the laptop and QDX to talk to one another..

..well sorta. Sent out a couple of CQs and the waterfall showed signals but nothing manifested itself like it does on WSJT-X. Believe it's a cockpit error here so am studying manuals and YouTube videos to get my sea legs.

Again, "muchas garcias". Will git 'er licked!
