QMX+
开云体育Hi, I think the QMX+ variant is great. Additional modules aside, it's no longer a QRP housing. Well, an ATU-100 automatic tuner measuring 160x120x20mm has the same footprint and would even fit on top, but without a display. That would have to be integrated into the QMX+ firmware. If I had one wish, I would want a variant with the height of the Ultimate 3/3d, i.e. a front panel measuring 120x44mm. Nothing else would fit in there, but many OMs have an external tuner. ? 73! Although the QMX+ is larger than the QMX, it's still a pretty portable size. It's much smaller and lighter than a typical 100W transceiver. If you manage to cram an internal battery and/or an ATU into the case, even more so. On Thu, May 30, 2024 at 7:32?AM Dave, M0OOR via <cedar8=[email protected]> wrote: What is QRP size? My QMX+ kit hasn't shipped yet, but I agree a thinner case would be a nice option. It seems you could make your own shorter end plates and then try to mod the front panel connections to orient it upwards instead. I'll want it in front of me before deciding if this is worth messing with.
I also agree that, with the stock case, just stuffing other equipment inside has appeal. I like having an external tuner, but I wouldn't mind just storing an ATU-10 or small manual tuner inside the case while carrying around. I generally carry my QDX with the lid unscrewed so I can easily open it for ventilation while operating. I ordered the QMX+ dev kit panel, but I think more mechanical mods are in order; would be nice if the dev panel layout were published. |
