QMX 3d printed cover
Nicolas thanks for posting your design. ?I am printing it as we speak as I needed something to protect my QMX in transit. ?I love the dual functionality your design offers but am concerned about using it as a desk stand as it appears it would block the heat dissipation out the back panel. ?Do you see that as an issue?

Salut Nicholas
Cordiallement?

Hi Nicolas,
?
Thanks for making your QMX cover design public - I printed one and am very pleased with it and mentioned it in a post to this list some weeks ago. I solved the problem of the radio slipping inside the cover by placing a rubber band around it lengthwise, so that the outside part of the band contacts the desk when used as a stand, and the inside part stops it slipping when used as a cover. Simple, effective and enhances a great design.

Hello Nicolas,
I have printed it and use it since a few week. I love the design very well.
?
I stuck transparent adhesiv pads on the backside so that it wasn't so slippery.?
?
There is still a border missing on both sides so that the cover doesn't slide back and forth. I'm still thinking about what could be improved...

Hello, I make some small border on the both sides. See file with name QMX_cover_with_small_border Be careful, I have not try this modifications yet, in real life. I have not time to print this before one or two week. Best 73 Nicolas F4EGX Le?mar. 15 oct. 2024 ¨¤?12:44, Stefan Gollub via <stefan.gollub=[email protected]> a ¨¦crit?:

Nikolas,
This is a great idea! Thanks for developing it. A friend printed it for me and I use it all the time to protect my QMX or QCX in my backpack. I like that it can double as a tilt stand, although I don't use this feature, personally.?
Another suggestion for this or the bottom of radios is to use loop (soft) Velcro stick-ons. They make nice soft 'feet'. In addition, placing the hook part on a desk or lap table will keep the radio from moving around.?
