In my newly built 40m version, I have sound, but the gain control pot has zero impact.? The radio just produces a steady volume level. For now, I set C1 to produce a level that an external speaker volume control can handle.

I've checked solder joints on pot. In fact re-heated each in case there was a gap. Still no effect.

Suggestions please on what else to try.

Solved my own problem when determining that the pot itself was faulty. I'm ultra careful when building, so I was surprised. I just ordered four gain pots from the store. One to replace the buggy one, and three spares.?
