GPS +5V powered from QMX PTT port?

So unless I'm missing something, the QMX *could* provide power to the GPS, albeit with an additional cable.? But that's fine by me.

excellent elaborate. Agree. In whole.
However, some time in the future, maybe, perhaps, if, it would be nice to have a separate, on board tiny PS unit for an optional tiny GPS plug-in board... Well, I had to say it.
