Is there any reason we can't steal the +5V to power a GPS from the PTT port?? In the terminal configuration menu, you can set the +5V output to be on during receive.? The BSS84 FET to VCC can handle 130mA.? And the power chain in the VCC power supply circuit can handle up to 5A.? Assuming the GPS doesn't draw nearly that much, it should work. Yes?? A quick google shows several serial GPS modules drawing around 50mA.

So unless I'm missing something, the QMX *could* provide power to the GPS, albeit with an additional cable.? But that's fine by me.

I'm going to try to tonight and I'll give my feedback here.
