Dumb question

What is the difference between the QDX and QDX-M.? I see M is a single band, but seems like not much cheaper if that is the only difference.? And the QMX is basically a QDX with CW?? I have a QCX mini but thinking about a digital kit.

Some people just wanted a single band so Hans released one. The QMX will be the way to go when the firmware is mature. I will replace my shack QDX with a QMX when I can get a second one.?

hi

you need QMX-M for

- 160, 630, 2200 meter bands (33400m?sub-9kHz?) why? at these frequencies diode band switching doesn't work properly.

- non radio amateur who wants to work 11m only

- single band beacons (like 22m ISM?)

Colin,?

You could almost replace your entire shack when Hans gets the firmware sorted.

That would be fun! I am curious to see how the SSB will compare to my trUSDX.?

Hi,?
I have made QDX M a dual band transceiver. I have just chosen the 10m LPF and adjusted BPF to serve both frequencies. Works well. A bit more sensitive rx, about the same tx output power.

Thanks everyone for not making me feel even dumber.? by the time I have the money, I may be looking at a QMX, otherwise QDX.?
