Clock range for QDX Lo ?
I have a two-channel LeoBodnar GPS clock box. I am trying to time both a QDX lo and KIWI SDR.
I worked with Bodnar support for a few days. The time shift slowed the communications. We started with the KIWI output 1 at 66.66 Mhz. The QDX came out on channel 2 at 24997500. I learned that this will not work on the QDX. Out of range. Makes sense, USB and other needs limit the clock adjustments to a smaller range. Question --- What is the Clock adjustment range of the QDX lo? John TI4JWC |
Hello John I don't know the answer to your question, unfortunately. But I'd be surprised if being 2.5 kHz low on a 25 MHz oscillator stopped it working. I don't think the requirements of USB clocking frequencies are THAT narrow tolerance.? My suggestion is to first make sure you did nothing else wrong. Set your oscillator on exactly 25 MHz even if you can't get every other requirement met (such as needing to generate other oscillator frequencies for other equipment). Then make sure QDX works. That way you can check that everything is interfaced correctly to QDX, so the connections and signal level is sufficient to clock it.? 73 Hans G0UPL On Wed, Jul 19, 2023 at 9:50?PM John via <n0ure=[email protected]> wrote: I have a two-channel LeoBodnar GPS clock box. Hans
The QDX has worked well all this time. Both on the internal and all OK with the external 25 Mhz clock from the Bodnar GPS clock. I am just trying to find a combination to also clock my KIWI from this two-channel Bodnat. The cascading multipliers and dividers make it a challenge to find a double solution. All just fun. Thank you Hans for the good devices to operate. John |
