Re: QCX+ Variable Output Power for QRPp Operation
Hi Ron, one question remains: what is the actual impedance match when you change the PA voltage? Have used the same method but not sure about the actual power level in 50 ohms environment. Were you

Re: More help if possible please.
Oh and I forgot, ensure that your audio settings from the soundcard are HIGH level. Too low and the QDX rigs won't see enough signal to interpret. That would prevent any TX going out for sure. Max the

Conky. Unrelated to your issue. But Conky is a bit of a time waster. It might look good, but a simple usage of htop command can tell give you a resources used report. Check your USB cable. Many are

Re: QMX 20m RX fix #rcvr #qmx #20m
Hi Don It does look 5db stronger at 20m without having a resonant mechanism in the way.( the additional separate toroid bodge.) It might be interesting to adjust the sweep starting at 12mhz to

Re: More help if possible please.
Hello to all, I reinstalled BAP on my Pi4+ and it is tx'ing fine. I haven't managed to sort out Conky yet but that is the plan for the morning along with a try at a fresh install of BAP for the 3B+. I

Re: QCX+ Variable Output Power for QRPp Operation
John, I made the mod mentioned above on an old 20 meter Classic QCX I use for experimenting. I fed the Emitter of Q6 with a separate variable voltage and left the rest of the radio running at 13.8

Hi all, interesting topic / discussion. Coming to the end of 0.7 'unknown' reel of solder that has provided excellent results over several years (it was a big reel!) using a couple of soldering irons

Hi Don Sounds like a much simpler solution When you do an RF sweep of 20m what is the level of the sweep in the 14 mhz range... I think the best I got was -12 db with an external toroid and coil Dave

John, Another safe and very flexible way to go is a step-attenuator.? This site has some good info on QRPp as well as construction of simple 43dB attenuator in steps of 1dB.
