Re: 10M QCX+ No sound when key down

Gotta be RFI, what¡¯s your feedline and antenna? Do you have access to an antenna analyzer?

Re: FT8 app for Android

Hi Giuseppe

I don't have time to test it myself. Nobody can imagine how overloadedly?busy I am here... but I came across this so thought it may be interesting to someone here.

Hans,

why not test FT8 Radio app? it does support QDX "officially". Prolly you

I am tempted, but messing with OTG/Power issues/Portable hub hold me
back so far.

Anyone else did test it already?

FT8 app for Android

Hi all

Came across this FT8 app for Android phones:

Everything appears to be in Chinese, though it claims to support?other languages too, including English. In the .zip file of the source code, there is a PDF user manual. Though it's in Chinese. I guess Google translate could sort that out.?

It would be rather nice if a cable could be plugged into the Android phone's USB-C/whatever port and the other end into a QDX, and the Android host the QDX both Audio and Virtual COM Serial. I don't know if the app supports this.?

Just throwing this out there in case some of you have more time than I do, to investigate such things.

Yes, section 8.5 in the manual gives the clue.
It can be done by careful calculation or "try it and see".

Re: QDX Input analysis

Hi Richard,
have you done the 4 capacitor short-out that prevents lockup and the track cut for rev 3a boards?I found high rx current ¡®weirdies¡¯ before I did these mods.
The input analysis only shows a signal while you are actually transmitting, and not using a VNC remote control if you have this.

40m QCX frequency #40m #qcx

Hi all,
My first time here. ?Be gentle ;)
I just built my first QCX on 40m. ?It works wonderfully well! ?It does appear, however, to be slightly off frequency. ?The reference frequency is set to default (27.004). ?Can I use this to try and dial in the frequency without issue? ?I have my K3/P3 to help me.

Jon,
What version of QDX are you using? This thread started long ago with a v1 which is not too good in IQ mode.

Without a screenshot or information as to what you are looking at I have to guess your soundcard is not stereo, or not set to stereo?

Ok, it dawns on me that I probably should be enabling the I/Q output, vs the soundcard audio?? Tried that... hey,? I now seem to see a 40something khz wide chunk of spectrum!? OK...? But, I'm still seeing the FT8 signals repeating along every so often, like images, rather than others I'd expect if I'm tuning properly...
so something's not right.

Re: QDX, IQ, and SDR Console 3.1 #qdx

Bringing up this one again...??

I gave it a try,? entered a frequency number of 12, uh, Hz,? since I wasn't paying close attention,? then thought that was the issue and changed to 12kHz.? And a bit wider,? but found all gave me the same odd response.? I see a DSB kind of output, with the notch at tuning freq.? I get about 3Khz wide bands on either side of the center freq notch.? Changing bandwidth,? changing the frequency number, etc doesn't seem to change that.? I don't see any signals beyond that upper and lower 3khz from tuning freq.?? Tuning up and down seems to have the notches appear every 30khz or so,? nothing inbetween.

It's a bit late to try to wrap my head around what I'm seeing here...? maybe the OmniRig isn't controlling properly,? maybe something else isn't set right.
I don't see an attachment or pic,? Mark... so I can't compare with what you are seeing.? Definitely not a 24 or 48khz stretch of band.

Re: BPF Peak Issue / Question

Thank you, Ron. I checked all of those voltages and saw that 5, 6 and 8 were measuring 0.9 v. All of the wires on the T50-2 toroid had continuity but one or more must have had some amount of excessive resistance from incomplete enamel removal. I reheated these toroid wires once again and the voltages popped up to 2.5v and the BPF amplitude scaling factor jumped up to 08-09.

I think I am all set. Thank you!

Re: Hans at FDIM again

Thanks?

Yep, I'll be there... My presentation "Evolution in Radio Design: building the next" is misrepresented on the FDIM website as "Evolution in Radio Design: building the next generation"... somebody apparently feeling the need to correct my intentional error. I call it poetic license. I shall have to object!

Re: Earthquake in Turkey

Thanks everyone...?

We returned from vacation on Saturday evening. Back in QRP Labs HQ now. We are not affected by the earthquake a few hours ago, which was almost 800km (500 miles) east of here. Pray for those that were - it looks to have been a big one.

Jumpers for 630M with the QDX-M

Sorry if I've missed this, but what are the jumper placements for 630M and below?? Probably on page 1 or something.? Thanks? N0UU

Hans and family live in southwestern Turkey, and the quake was in southeastern Turkey, so Mugla may not have been effected much. ?Who knows where the vacay was taking them, though. ?
