Re: Elecraft T-1 tuner usage
Thanks Stan! That is very much appreciated. As far as the manual, I'll agree it is one of the lengthiest manuals I've seen, but that's inevitable since it's also one of the most complex radios I've

Allison, Evan, Thank you very much, indeed, for the details. The posts from both of you have been ¡°must read¡± for me and I have been learning so much from you. Bill, I enjoyed watching your photo

Re: QMX+ CAT PTT bug?
This is a known issue. WSJTX only works in Digi mode and wsjtx will not auto switch the QMX properly. Set wsjtx USB/Data/None config to NONE and manually switch to digi.

Re: QMX Kit problems
Sounds like the knobs are too close to the case for rge 'case on, won't turn on' scene. That fix is simple: reposition the knobs farther out. Other switches not working sounds like cold solder joints

Rev 3 QMX+ running WSJT-x 2.7.0. When running with USB audio mode (SSB mode on QMX+), selected in both the QMX and WSJT-x the TUNE/TX ENABLE ?or PTT test only gives a momentary PTT signal the first

Re: FDIM 2025 - Bringing SSB to the QMX (Hans's presentation)
Dear Hans, Thanks a lot for sharing the paper, which fits perfect in the monumental amount of info you provide about all the QRP-Labs products. I think anybody interested in the innards of the

QMX Kit problems
My parents got me the QMX 80-20m kit as a present for getting my license in Australia. This is my first time doing something like this but the challenge was very fun here are my problems- 1. when the

Re: Blown Q504 - heat dissipation was not ok
Oh boy! :-) I think we might be diving deeper into the thermal rabbit hole than expected, but let's sort this out properly... The heat dissipation of a TO-92 package is indeed lower via the case

Re: QMX Plus in contest
Ahh Roelof you are far ahead of my knowledge and possibilities so I have to stick with small challenges. My loop is doing pretty well and I have been thinking of changing to a 4:1 Balun and something

Re: High current draw on initial power up #qmx #troubleshooting
Very interesting, yes, and a bit perplexing. But also very good news, that you have the processor up and running correctly. It may be safe to use in this state, but I am not sure.? You still have

Re: QMX+ lucky streak ended
One possible and relatively common failure resulting in your original symptoms would be a shorted D109 - on Vdd rather than 12V, but can drag down the 12V line.

Re: 50 Watt Power Amplifier - Low Power, High Harmonics #50w #50wpa
I have built three of these amps. The output transformer is easy to get wrong with shorting windings. I was extremely careful by pre bending the wire before threading through the cores. They all

Re: Blown Q504 - heat dissipation was not ok
There is nearly no heat dissipation over the transistor housing (to much thermal resistance). The most heat dissipation is over the transistor leads. The screw/washer is used to keep the transistor
