Re: QMX died before i got a chance to transmit.
yep sorry the talet cell operates as you specified. the one i have can either charge with a 12.6v charger, or a usbc cable.? i have a couple other regulated batteries that i can choose 12v out.? and

New QMX - observations and best QSO
My QMX arrived last week. Since I operate primarily digital, ( but seriously working on honing my CW skills) I was able to get several 'DIGI' mode programs to work. Not so easy with the SSB-required

Re: QMX SSB low output
Randy, you would find some of this information when reading Hans papers. And did you check the Wiki? I think there is such a document already, but not complete now. 73 Ludwig

I guess that I missed the start of this thread¡¡ where is the carrot info? John KK4ITX ?Each mistake is a learning opportunity.?

Re: QMX SSB low output
Stan, your two posts here and Jerry Gaffke's would make an excellent QMX* SSB Setup and Troubleshooting Wiki entry for the group! Might save you having to restate it at some point. :-) -- Randy, N4OPI

Re: QMX SSB in mobile?
It's not designed for this kind of environment. If you want to do mobile HF you'd be better off using a rig purpose-built for mobile HF.

Re: QMX SSB in mobile?
It's noisy on the road, so you will need a good audio amp. Also, you tend to bounce around a lot, at least on my town's potholed roads, so you should think of ways to ruggedize the rig, or give it a

Re: QMX SSB low output
Here are a few things to try to figure out what's happening with your SSB transmission, based on my trials: 1) Make sure you have a proper 'listening/evaluation' setup.? This is quite important.?

Re: QMX SWR measurement is not correct while using with PA
Your PA will behave differently when driven by less than 1 milliwatt from the network/antenna analyzer than it will when it is being driven by 3 to 5 watts from the QMX. The PA current will be

QMX 60-15M Processor IC203 PB1 (Pin 36, LPF1 Q510 Gate control) Not Working #output #30m #bias #filter #qmx
Good Morning! I just finished building a QMX 60-15M kit that was shipped 2-April-2025, and found no CW output on 20 and 30M.? Here is what I've measured and found: * The gate voltage on Q509 (LPF 0

Re: QMX+ Diagnostic Sweeps of 160m Band
Very interesting. First notes: your image and audio sweeps look normal - the image non-rejection is a known design issue, correlated with the I/Q issue. Your 160 BPF sweep looks better, but still far

Re: QMX SSB in mobile?
Hi, It has 5W, the FT-817ND has 5 W too and works well. So, think by yourself. With amp is every trx stronger/louder. Tuner is for correcting the antenna, not the QMX. About 1280km with QMX and EFHW

Re: Tune SWR on QMX+ always shows SWR <1.05
Thanks, this is very useful information - I will return to T507 and check enamel/soldering or other errors. I use a big tip and 380 celcius but there's always a chance that something is not up to

Re: Tune SWR on QMX+ always shows SWR <1.05
Arne, Look at the schematic around T507 on the last page. If the QMX shows a roughly correct power out reading when driving a 50 ohm dummy load, that means that ADC_FWD has a proper voltage on it for

Re: Tune SWR on QMX+ always shows SWR <1.05
Arne, I know you already checked T507 connections. Your symptoms indicate that most likely your processor is not detecting any reflected power from the SWR bridge, whose main component is T507. This

Re: Tune SWR on QMX+ always shows SWR <1.05
Thanks, I've now tried the dummy load from QRP Labs, and a couple of antennas that should produce absurd SWR at some settings. All the while, the QMX+ shows SWR between 1.00 and about 1.10-1.20.
