I have not heard of this specific meaning previously either….. I always thought answering to a call on the net was that it meant ‘I am present and listening and I guess that is pretty much the same thing.’ Of course there is always the ever-present response to a call during the net to simply send one Dah to indicate that you are paying attention. In my book, brevity tends to rule……

开云体育I emailed James Wades WB8SIW on this matter and James confirmed that “HR” was used by commercial Morse ops to represent “hand ready”. I first heard this interesting tidbit from SK Jeff WB8WKQ. I’ve scoured the Internet for ?references but have yet to find one. However, I respect James’ knowledge of all things Telegraph and Morse Code.
