I would like to invite everyone, including non-members to participate in QCWA Chapter 41 activities. Check in to our Sunday morning net on 3835 Khz @ 7:00 AM and attend our monthly luncheons.?

QCWA is a great organization to both establish and maintain long term Amateur Radio friendships and support them in times of need. You don't have to be a member to participate. If you know others that may be interested, invite them to join this group.io reflector, check into the Sunday morning nets and attend our luncheons.

Luncheon This Saturday, 8/24/2024
This coming Saturday will be the next QCWA Dallas area get together. The consensus was to have it this month at the Country Recipes Grill @ 11:00 AM. If you can't make it this month, put it on your calendar for the 4th Saturday next month (September). They have a wonderful selection of both breakfast (available until 2 PM) and lunch. Here is? the menu and directions to get there:

Carl Solomon ran the net this morning with 15 attendees checking in. ?I could hear most of the Western US stations on the Reno SDR Repeater and Foster Rich assisted us in calling several of the missing California and Nevada stations.? Mason also assisted us because of his location at the western edge of the Oklahoma Panhandle he can hear and be heard by almost everyone on our list.? He was very helpful in backing us up when our noise levels exceeded the point where we could hear every station. ? ? Greetings all!?? ? I'm sending you this note as one of your QCWA national directors and as a resident of Hurst, TX, over on the other side of the county line and a member of Fort Worth chapter 72. You're receiving this note as you have all indicated in the past that you are members of Dallas/Barney Moffatt Memorial chapter 41, which has been listed as inactive since late 2019.? One of my personal goals as a Director is to work to re-invigorate our inactive chapters, and since I'm relatively close to Dallas and know a few of you personally, I'd like to personally help get chapter 41 reignited.? To do so requires that we get at least five QCWA members together to elect a President and Secretary (at a minimum). ? If I can drum up enough interest to do this, I'm going to recommend that we attach our meetings to a local recurring event, such as the Hams and Eggs Saturday morning meeting at the Whataburger at Old Denton Road and the Bush Turnpike in Carrollton (this is a Club-agnostic informal meeting and all are welcome, it would be a good place to start). ? The last time that Chapter 41 sent in a chapter report was in October of 2019.? I know that N5NT and W5PUT, the last President and Secretary of record are in this email and it would be wonderful if the two of you would like to help us restart the chapter.?? ? One of my goals with bringing back the Dallas chapter will be to have a QCWA presence at the Dallas area hamfests. Fort Worth chapter 72 has an excellent track record of representing the QCWA on the Tarrant county side, and it would be great if we had a similar presence on the Dallas side. ? Jay,
I agree with your concept for the mission statement. I would suggest replacing the word "evangelize" with the word "promote'. So, the statement would read "To promote Amateur Radio and share members quarter century of ham radio experience." Also, I would consider
modifying it slightly to state "To promote Amateur Radio through fellowship and the experience of members with a quarter century?of ham radio experience."

开云体育Good Morning Gentlemen,? The QCWA related Net spreadsheet has been attached.? The list shows that we had 14?attendees this morning on October 13th. ?Mason took my place as the net controller this morning and he did an absolutely fine job of running the net.? Since his location in far western Oklahoma and his fine antenna system and strong transmitters and receivers assure that he is able to hear everyone and all of the attendees can hear him.? I really appreciate his thoughtfulness in taking my place as the net controller today. ? Having said above I am hereby telling you that I intend to no longer work as one of the net controllers.? Every time I do this I unintentionally cause one of our new HVAC systems to shut down.? By the time I eliminated all of the power output I could many people could only barely hear me but most of them could not hear me at all. ? The normal Sunday QCWA41 7:00 AM net caller sequence is Carl Solomon followed by Jim Popelarski followed by Mason Sarles but not followed by me.? If I were making a decision about my replacement I would suggest that Jerry Sams, H5KNU, who lives in Edmond Oklahoma would do a good job and could probably be heard by almost everyone.? I believe Mason would be willing to assist Jerry if he needed some help with some of the distant stations. ? I will be asking Jay Urish, W5GM, to post the each Sundays Attendance on the QCWA41 net so that I do not have to send it out to all of our individually.? I will continue to maintain the Attendance report for the foreseeable future as I have done for quite a few of the last years.? It will always be published in the Bullzip PDF Printer mode. ? Please look at the QCWA Net List Attendee Count I attached above and you will see that we have a number of users that have not checked in for quite some time.? I believe we should make an effort to contact these users and see if they intend to begin checking in on a regular basis.? If they do not we should let them know that they will be eliminated from our list of current users.? Each of the QCWA41 Sunday net callers should make this announcement every week as soon as you start the net. ? Mason did a superb job of calling the net this morning. He can reach essentially all of our members from his QTH in the far western extent of Oklahoma both receiving and transmitting. ? Please note that I have moved the two relatively new users, Donald Norton, KB7USA, who resides in Kingman, AZ and Jeff Salmons, N5ECP, who also resides in Kingman, AZ to near the top of our list. ?
