Folks, This first request for volunteers is going out to QCECG members only. Moving forward, we need a response from all 38 members whether you can be available or not for our official events. We need to keep track of participation for both our organization and for the Town Volunteer Coordinator. This event takes place over two days. - Hometown Christmas Lighting, Friday 12/6 - Hometown Parade, Saturday 12/7 For Friday, we need at least 8 total volunteers from 4:45 PM til 9 PM. 2 of these volunteers will be bus riders. Other assignments will be stationary. For Saturday, we need at least 15 total volunteers from 7:30 AM til 1 PM. 2 of these volunteers will be bus riders, 2 will be very active shadows, 1 will be a liaison at the Town Command Center, and other assignments will be assisting with staging and/or bus pickup/drop-off. The Scottsdale Amateur Radio Club is hosting a 2-day Technician License Class on November 16th and 23rd, 2024 in downtown Phoenix, near Central and Osborn area. We just completed a 2-day class in May and had a fantastic turnout of 40 students, and 39 students passed the test. Do you know any family members, friends or neighbors that wants to get their ham radio license and be prepared in the event of an emergency, like if our communication grid goes out or is ever attacked? This is a FREE class and tests. After you sign up, respond to the email that you will be taking an upgrade test, and which class you are testing for. Sign up on our website at www.ScottsdaleARC.org. The class is free as well as the testing. You will be required to buy the Gordon West 2024-2026 Technician License Manual. Copies are available locally at Ham Radio Outlet in Phoenix and on Amazon. Once signed up, we will send you more information. Seats are limited so don't delay signing up. No walk-ins will be allowed and pre-study is important. Hello, There will be a free Technician course coming up in the month of November. It is open to anyone interested in preparing for the Technician Class exam. There will be a total of six classes with the exam administered at the sixth class.
