Queen Creek will no longer produce Trunk or Treat.
Please read... With a focus on family friendly events that connect the community, the Town of Queen Creek will no longer produce Trunk or Treat. Last year, the event drew 20,000+ attendees and spanned more than a quarter of a mile with? a wide range of activities, making it difficult for friends and neighbors to meet up and socialize. As the Town Center continues to develop, parking options north of Ocotillo Road are becoming more and more limited. In addition, the size and scope of the event required a two-day closure of Ellsworth Road to safely set up and take down. The extended closure resulted in increased traffic congestion in the heart of the community. The event itself was also becoming increasingly expensive to produce - even with scaling back activities and reducing the amount of candy, the event was projected to exceed budgetary constraints for 2024.? Thanks to everyone who has made Trunk or Treat possible – from sponsors, vendors, community groups and residents. For more information regarding the announcement, please visit As the Town continues to focus on community events that provide an opportunity for residents to engage and connect, the Town is excited to announce that the Queen Creek Hometown Christmas Parade will transition from a Chamber of Commerce event to a Town event in 2024 - stay tuned for more details. |

Ron Earl, K7RWE - Silent Key
Ron Earl, K7RWE - Silent Key It is with deep sadness to announce that our good friend and fellow ham, Ron Earl, passed away last evening. Ron was a long time member and leader in the Queen Creek Emergency Communications Group and very active in our local ham community, He participated in many events hosted by the Queen Creek Amateur Radio Club, The Gathering of the Willing (East Valley QRP Group), and QCECG.? Ron gave of his time, his equipment, and fellowship.? He was an excellent example of service to his community, his Church, and his God. On a personal note, Ron and his dear wife Colleen, were there for me and my family when we were experiencing a very tough period a few years back. He and Colleen will be forever in our hearts. We will miss you, Ron, but your spirit of goodness and service is everlasting.
Please join me in a moment of remembrance of such a good man and prayer for his family. Thank you, Joe, N2QOJ |
