International Space Station Visible Tonight (6 minutes!)
International Space Station Visible Tonight (6 minutes!) Another opportunity to spot the International Space Station this evening as it passes over our area in Arizona. It should be a great pass and hopefully the clouds will be minimal. It will pass almost directly overhead! Treat your family and friends to a viewing of the International Space Station tonight. I find that even the most non-technical family member or friend gets a kick out of seeing the station as it moves across the sky at 17,150 MPH - that's 4.76 miles per second - and about 250 miles above us. If you are an amateur radio operator, take the opportunity to relate how us hams can communicate directly with the ISS or through one of its transponders. The ISS will be visible for 6 minutes and should be a good viewing and becomes visible directly from the Southwest and disappears towards the Northeast.
Time: Wed Mar 16 7:37 PM Visible: 6 min Max Height: 84¡ã Appears: 10¡ã above SW (from 225 degrees)
Disappears: 19¡ã above NE (toward 45 degrees)
I've also attached an illustration that will help you determine how to use this information. You can watch and track the station in advance at this link: And, something new! I've attached a chart of the actual pass. Remember, these times are based on a viewing site from the Mesa area (and within 50 miles). If you would like to generate times from your specific city or town, visit this link and follow the instructions. If your specific city or town isn¡¯t listed, pick the closest one: The space station is visible for at least a 50 mile (80 km) radius around each of the listed locations. If you are an amateur radio operator, listen in (or work) on these frequencies:
Voice and SSTV Downlink: 145.80 (Worldwide) Voice Uplink: 144.49 for ITU Regions 2 and 3 VHF Packet Uplink and Downlink: 145.825 (Worldwide) - easiest to hear UHF Packet Uplink and Downlink: 437.550 UHF/VHF Repeater Uplink: 145.990 (67Hz PL Tone) UHF/VHF Repeater Downlink: 437.800

Hello QCECG Members (and friends of QCECG),

Another great training opportunity!

QCECG volunteers will be needed from?8:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Here is a link to the??event page on the Town's website.
Recreation

and the Queen Creek Library (overflow parking lot). - Shuttle 1 & 2: 8:15 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
- Shuttle 3: 8:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
There
are two paved parking areas at the park.? One to the north and one to
the south of the park.? It sounds like Recreation is going to close
the?south parking lot for the event and just use it for volunteer
and?vendor?parking.
At this time, the following lists the tentative assignments and number of QCECG volunteers needed.
QCECG Volunteer roles: - Two
or Three (2-3) QCECG members?will be needed?as net control.? We can set

assist citizens with loading/unloading shuttles.? May be able to add one
(1) QC CERT member here and reduce to one (1) QCECG member.
- One (1) QCECG member or one (1) QC CERT member to assist citizens?with crossing from onsite overflow parking lot?to?park.
- Two
or four (2-4) QC CERT members at the onsite?overflow parking lot to
assist citizens with parking directions.? This will depend on QCPD's
parking plan

provide a map and a "script" with all of the events and information
that we may need to answer for the public.

It
seems to be DRM Repeater KD4ILM. It's fine when in digital QSOs but
when not in QSO, it transmits a continuous burst of the same motor
boating until it 's ID kicks off or another QSO starts. Can anyone else
confirm this behavior? (Big thank you to Thomas, K7THJ, for identifying
this repeater.)
Joe, N2QOJ
Folks,
It looks like we have some serious man-made noise locally on 442.350 MHz.. We need assistance in the Queen Creek area to locate the source of this terrible noise source. We need folks with directional antennas to report on compass headings of the source along with their exact location while direction finding so we can triangulate the source. Please direct message me so we don't tie up the Groups with these reports.

Nevermind.? I hear the noise on the frequency now.? I've been talking on the MARCA repeater with some hams in the Chandler hams group (443.050) and it is thought that this may be a DMR repeater transmitting a digital signal.? I personally don't know but I do hear it.??
