Two new Spotter Webinars coming!
Hello Spotters!
I wanted to let you know that we are adding two Spotter webinars before the end of the year. One of them will be a Standard class/webinar (the required type) on November 4th. The other one is the purely optional Advanced class on December 7th.
In order to be eligible for the Advanced class, you will need to have successfully completed one of the Standard class/webinars either this year or in 2020. If you don't remember, search your email files for a completion notification from me. That same email should also have your Spotter ID number in it (needed as part of the Advanced registration).
To register for either webinar (or both), go to the Spotter webpage () and scroll down to the Training section. They will be the last two entries in the table.
Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!

Transmitter Hunting in Arizona
We are experiencing better weather, and soon, great weather. That means T-Hunting season is upon us. Transmitter Hunting is the most used term to describe this activity and some call it RDF sport (Radio Direction Finding) or Fox Hunting.
If you are Interested in Transmitter Hunting, AKA T-Hunting, AKA Fox Hunting, AKA radio direction finding, then you are in luck.
Visit this website to learn more about this popular radio sport in the East Valley:
Be sure to also join their email distribution group at
Besides scheduled hunts, "On-Demand" T-Hunts are now possible. This is a great development. It means that when an On-Demand T-Hunt is announced, a frequency and activation DTMF code is provided so that you can go to a specified area, activate the T-Hunt with your radio. Upon receiving the correct DTMF tone, the T-Hunt transmitter will enter T-Hunt mode and it will begin to transmit tones. The hunt begins!
The organizer of the On-Demand T-hunt usually has this type of T-Hunt available for 7-8 days. The objective of ON-Demand T-Hunting is that It's a great way for hams to work the T-Hunt on their personal schedule.
