This is a group for owners of the Q900 SDR Transceiver manufactured by Guohe Electronic Technology Co., Ltd in China. This impressively described device for radio hams is widely advertised on eBay and elsewhere and is offered by a number of vendors.
Initially, we want this to be a source of information for owners of the Q900 and not for queries from those without experiences with the Q900.
This is not intended as a substitute or competition for the WhatsApp site supported by the manufacturer.
It is hoped that enough interest and information flows from initial posts and emails that an upgrade of this service and a broadening of the intended audience occurs.

I was also trying to order Q900, as I was looking for an '817 replacement. Somehow the PMR-171 seems to have doubled in weight for the same innards, and is now the weight of my FT-891.<br/><br/>If you want to use 2m/70cm, then the RX sensitivity given in the specs聽 is poor on 2m and very poor on 70cm ((0.5uV, 12dB worse than FT817).<br/>If they perform per specs - you won't be using it with great success for satellite comms or VHF/UHF SSB contest work without a preamp<br/>Given that they don't seem able to give a consistent weight for these radios, they might be better or worse than specs.simon@... Guohetec have informed me the Q900 is now discontinued 馃様, the PMR- 171 has superceded it. 聽I may well get one of these instead although it looks somewhat bigger than the Q900! 聽But in many respects it fits the bill as a pseudo military style radio with most connections at the front end allowing back pack operation. 聽 Its got the same waterfall and buttuns as the Q900.聽<br/><br/>Glad to hear youre enjoying your rig! 馃憤<br/>m6eastcoastgirl@...
