PACIFIC ISLANDS FORUM SECRETARIAT
SUVA, FIJI
The Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat was established in 1972 by the South
Pacific Forum to encourage economic and political cooperation between its
member countries*, and between these states and other countries.
MANAGER - FINANCE SERVICES
The Secretariat is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced person to
work as Manager - Finance Services in its Corporate Services Division. The
Manager - Finance supervises a staff of seven and is responsible for a
budget of F$12million and a wide range of special financial management and
information technology projects.
The Manager - Finance Services will be accountable to the Director,
Corporate Services Division for:
¡¤ The integrity of the accounting and IT systems, including associated
records and computer applications;
¡¤ Recommending and implementing a coherent funds management policy;
¡¤ Supervising preparation of annual financial statements and liaison as
necessary with donors and auditors;
¡¤ Coordinating preparation of the Secretariat's Work Programme and Budget;
¡¤ Monitoring cash flow and funding requirements;
¡¤ Ensuring the preparation of timely/accurate monthly management operating
systems; and
¡¤ Carrying out other duties from time to time as directed by the Director,
Corporate Services.
Applicants must be citizens of Forum member countries* and should have a
university degree in Accounting/Financial Management, proven analytical
abilities and appropriate IT and financial management experience, preferably
international. Substantial international travel may be required.
The appointment will carry a competitive remuneration package. For
non-Fiji citizens remuneration should be tax free in Forum member countries*.
There are generous establishment and education allowances together with
medical and life insurance provisions. Appointments are normally for three
years, with the option to renew for a further three years.
