? ? WWF, the world¡¯s largest independent conservation organisation with a global network active in 96 countries, is seeking to recruit 2 Pacific Islanders for its South Pacific Programme Office: ? Polynesia Marine Ecoregional Coordinator ? Based in Rarotonga, Cook Islands, the Polynesia Marine Ecoregional Coordinator will lead and manage an established multi-disciplinary conservation Program for WWF. ? The main responsibilities of this position are: ¡¤?????? To lead Ecoregional conservation initiatives for Polynesia Reefs ecoregion ¡¤?????? Analysis and evaluation of local conservation and development initiatives ¡¤?????? Management of Cook Islands Partnerships in Conservation Project office including its conservation, finance and administration program, as well as staff reporting to the Program. ¡¤?????? Development, co-ordination and management of strategic and operational plans relevant to all aspects of the Project, ensuring effective monitoring and evaluation for efficiency and effectiveness ¡¤?????? Contribute to the formulation of WWF policy and position papers on marine issues affecting conservation and sustainable development for priority Ecoregions in other Pacific Island countries; ¡¤?????? Development and implementation of a sound fundraising and funds management plan to ensure adequate funds to support the Project. ¡¤?????? Strengthening as well as widening relations with donors, government and civil society/non government organisations who support the Project ? The requirements are: <??????????? A graduate degree and preferably post-graduate qualifications in environmental management, development studies, economics or resource policy <??????????? At least 2 years post-graduate field experience with a strong background in conservation in Cook Islands. <??????????? At least 3-5 years senior management experience with proven leadership and interpersonal skills. <??????????? Proven analytical and problem solving skills. <??????????? Fluency in English and knowledge of a Cook Island language.? Competency in French would be a distinct advantage. ? Sustainable Livelihoods (Poverty) and Capacity Building Coordinator (Regional)? ? Based in Suva, Fiji, the Sustainable Livelihoods (Poverty) and Capacity Building Coordinator will lead and coordinate an established multi-disciplinary conservation Program for WWF. ? The main responsibilities of this position are: ¡¤?????? To lead and coordinate the WWF South Pacific Capacity Building Framework Programme ¡¤?????? To develop a framework and support WWF sustainable livelihood and community resource conservation programme in relation to Country, Ecoregional programmes in the Pacific. ¡¤?????? Support work of current WWF projects in relation to sustainable livelihood and capacity building. ¡¤?????? To provide project management support in project monitoring and evaluation. ? The requirements are: <??????????? A graduate degree and preferably post-graduate qualifications in environmental management, development studies, economics or resource policy is required. <??????????? The incumbent must demonstrate excellent knowledge in the fields of capacity building, conservation and development, participatory development, sustainable livelihood. <??????????? At least 3-5 years senior management experience with proven leadership and interpersonal skills. <??????????? Proven analytical and problem solving skills. <??????????? Fluency in English and knowledge of a local language ? Additional requirements for both the positions include: <??????????? High level of computer literacy is mandatory. <??????????? Diplomatic skills and cultural sensitivity. <??????????? A passion for nature. ?
