85S running again

开云体育

?Finally got mine back together and running, but I still have a issue. Took it for a drive and have a vibration when accelerating, the reason I took it apart in the first place.?

?I replaced plugs, plug wires, caps, rotors but something else is wrong. Backed it back into the garage and was going to check the new plugs to see if they are all firing, but the hood release handle popped off, the cable is not budging, so I can’t get the hood open.?

?I’ll dive in at some point this weekend to try to get the hood open and plugs checked out, but what are your thoughts??

?Clearly a cylinder isn’t firing, could it be injectors?

Mine did that and I found my passenger side CAM was one tooth off. Put porken alignment tool on and got it right on and did not have the vibration after that.

Did it slip a tooth at some point, or was it installed that way?

Mine was running fine for years before the vibration started.

I believe it was my fault. I had just had the lower end rebuilt and reinstalled it and that was when I noticed that it would vibrate when getting on the throttle. I had did what you did and replaced most of the ignition bits. Still vibrated. Rechecked the timing and that was when I found it. So a bit different than your sequence of events.

?Been chatting with Tom about possible causes and I’m about ready to pull the fuel rails and injectors. I’ve confirmed that all the plugs are sparking, but I’m not convinced that I’m getting fuel to each cylinder.?

?I do have another question though. There is a 3 pin connector sitting directly behind the round diagnostic piece, and it has its own little bracket that holds it there. Can anyone tell me what that 3 pin connector is?

Throttle position switch.?

If it is broken Roger carries a replacement on his website that is a very nice piece.?
