Re: Clutch driving me crazy

开云体育

I've never heard of someone extending the slave rod to get it to release.? Most are lack of travel in the master (longer rod) that needs to be cut so it can travel further and fully engage the slave.

check on rennlist about modifying the master.?

How about the release bearing, you did press in a new bearing.? Is that "spinning" ok?

Just tossing out some ideas as like Colin noted, usually it's the discs when there's chatter, but the early dual discs engage higher and slower than the single discs, so pedal/master/slave travel sometimes affects how the system grabs.?

My 79 has all original discs etc, I added a new slave and I can feel the grabiness (is that a word :D) due to it just being resurrected after sitting for better part of 20 years.? The more I drive, the better it seems to operate.

The double disc clutches can be a pain, but getting the intermediate plate pinned is a good start.?

Another thought, on some of the early double discs, there is a "front" and "back" disc.? Does the spec have front and back, or are they both the same?

I had the same experience with mine and it went away after bleeding the slave.
Makes no sense probably but I'm chatter free.

Re: Griot's Garage next Sat (May 3)

Weather was good, and was all set to head up, and the 928 curse hit.?
Was meeting folks to convoy up, and at the meeting spot, getting ready to head out, cranked and the GT was dead dead dead.? Dash was super dim.
I've been getting the dash resets on start up (even after being on the maintainer) this year, so was worried, but every time up until now, it started and ran fine.
Likely the battery as it's from 2013.? I guess even after being on a maintainer all the time, they do fail.?
Jump start got me going, but headed home just to be safe.
Now off to grab a new battery.

Re: 1981 5-speed $57k

Pretty decent result.? One thing to keep in mind is that this one was fully restored, with engine rebuild by Greg Brown, so that has some part in the value.?

I'm still surprised at the last 90GT on BAT that went for around $50K.?? It was a low mile, but had some really dodgy work done and seemed to have a lot of questions about what still needed to be done.?

On a side note, pulled the dash out of my 79 and was surprised to see everything under there in pretty good shape, including still holding vacuum on all those little pods etc.? Now to figure out if I need to ship it to Rob Budd, or grab some vinyl and attempt myself.....hmmmm......? (Maybe when I'm done with the resto, I'll get it on Broad Arrow too :D LOL)...nah, gonna be buried in my 928s :D??

I was amazed at what some of the other Porsches sold for. ?A number of them were only collector cars (‘66 911’s with only a few hundred miles on them), but others like GT3’s & GT4 RS’s (very special cars indeed) were selling for prices double what similar cars would go for on PCarMarket. ??
