I have an old studio photograph identified as Maggie CONLEY which was taken at the J. B. Hopkins Studio in Lock Haven, PA. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1860's or 1870's with Maggie likely in her 20's at the time it was taken. I believe that this is a photograph of Margaret "Maggie" CONLEY and was able to gather the following information regarding her and her family: Margaret “Maggie” Jane CONLEY was b. 29 May 1845 in Mifflin County, PA to parents Hugh CONLEY (1804-1870) and Jane ROBINSON (1815-1895). Maggie was one of 7 children born to this couple including Martha; James Robinson; Isabella Beggard or Biggard; Mary Caroline; Maggie; Sarah; and Nancy T. CONLEY, all born between 1836 and 1851. Maggie first married Louis or Lewis Swinehart HELLER (1840-1885) on 16 Dec 1869 in Homburg, PA and they had two children including Clyde Angelo HELLER (1870-1937) and Glenn Conley HELLER (1875-1951). After her first husband died, she married Rev. Daniel H. LEADER (1850-1929) and they had two children, a daughter, Margaret Jane LEADER WINDOLPH (1889-1970) and a son, John Daniel LEADER (b. 1889). Maggie died 17 Jul 1923 in Lancaster Township, Lancaster Co., PA or Columbiana, OH and is buried in the Greenwood Cemetery in Lancaster, PA. I've recovered an old photograph of Roy PROBST and his son Lynn PROBST which was taken when the baby was just 3 months old. The photograph was sent to Mrs. B. F. PROBST in Swissdale, PA on June 29th from Roy's wife Carrie PROBST in Lock Haven, PA. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information regarding Roy and his family: Roy Sidney PROBST was b. 15 Jan 1886 in Swissdale, PA to parents George Washington PROBST (1863-1920) and Bertha Ellen WEAVER (1867-1902) who were married 15 Mar 1888 in Woodward Township, Clinton Co., PA. Roy was one of 7 children born to this couple including, Roy Sidney; Alverna “Verna” E.; Phoebe B.; Mary Ellen; Ralph Benjamin; Guy Weaver; and Ruth Ellen PROBST all born between 1886 and 1901. After his mother died his father remarried and two additional children were born including Esther Marie and Dorothy M. PROBST born in 1909 and 1912. Roy married Carrie Belle SHAFFER (1886-1960) and they had three children including Lynn S. PROBST (1912-1984); Ruth Ellen PROBST ECKERT WATTS (1916-1982) and Helen Arline PROBST MURDOCH (1918-2003). Roy died 10 Mar 1961 in Lock Haven, PA and is buried in the Highland Cemetery in Lock Haven, PA. Their son Lynn married Mary QUIGGLE and he died 2 Dec 1984 in Camden, PA. Roy’s wife Carrie was born 10 Aug 1886 in Lock Haven, PA to parents Henry W. SHAFFER (1866-1947) and Anna-Belle CURNS (1866-1939) who were married 14 Jun 1886 in Clinton Co., PA. Carrie was one of four children born to this couple including Carrie Belle; Ruth C.; Miriam I.; and Harry Augustus SHAFFER, all born between 1886 and 1907. Carrie died 26 Jan 1960 in Lock Haven, PA and is also buried in the Highland Cemetery in Lock Haven, PA. Mrs. B. F. PROBST is Mary F. SUITER wife of Benjamin Franklin PROBST (1830-1900). Mary was born 12 Aug 1840 or 1841 in Swissdale, PA to parents Nicholas SUITER (1801-1888) and Elisabeth WITCHI (1805-1887) who were married in Switzerland in 1820. She was one of 7 children born to this couple including Frederick H.; John; Andrew; Samuel; David; Mary F.; and Elizabeth Suiter, all born between 1825 and 1846. Mary and Benjamin PROBST had 11 children including Emily or Emma Elizabeth; George Washington; Lydia Ellen; Minnie Elizabeth; Carrie Frances or Florence; Charlotte Priscilla; Cornelius Sterling; Howard Cline; Jeremiah; Emanuel Kohr; and Alice May PROBST, all born between 1860 and 1882. Mary died 7 Oct 1914 in Swissdale, PA and is buried in the Swissdale Cemetery in Swissdale, PA.
