#SurnameShoutOut
#surnameshoutout
Hi everyone!
While people are joining us, I thought a good way to get things rolling here is what I like to call a #SurnameShoutOut . This works just like the old Roll Call. Post a surname with a first name along with all of the vital data that you do have. This way if any of us know, we can do the lookups. Be sure to mention where your elusive ancestor is from. I'm setting this up as a hashtag so this will remain as an ongoing thread. Have fun with this and let's shatter some brick walls! Happy hunting! Rick B Admin |

I am also researching the Shaffer family from this area. Peter Shaffer b. 1809 d.1888 in Lock Haven, Clinton County, Pa. He married Anna Paige/Page/Bardge she was born in Union/Snyder County, Pa. in 1812 d.1893 in Lock Haven (her mother was named Barbara ? and was Mennonite).. Their children were born in Chapman Twp. Union/Snyder County. Peter Shaffer's parents may have been a Johann Peter Shaffer born in 1775 married to Anna Maria Herrold born in Chapman Snyder/Union County in 1778. I was wondering if this might be part of your Shaffer family? Vicki

The only information that I have regarding other family members was a baptism at the First Reformed Church, Lancaster, PA for Margaret Shaffer born 16 December 1790, baptized 1 January 1791, parents Frederick & Margaret. Also, they were in Lancaster PA for the 1790 census. Ron "dfretz via Groups.Io" wrote: I am also researching the Shaffer family from this area.
