开云体育Fisher, Thrush, Kirker, Crate I am looking for a lead on my G Grandfather Joshua F Fisher b. 10 May 1846 ??Schuylkill Co.?? d. 29 Jan 1929 in Erie Co., PA.? Possible family tragedy between 1846 and 1860, that left our Joshua orphaned. SO, Looking for a birth record for our G Grandfather Joshua F Fisher b. 10 May 1846 Schuylkill Co. d. 29 Jan 1929 in Erie Co., PA m. 1st Rebecca Todd Thompson on 21 Aug 1871 Rebecca Todd b. 29 May 1854 d. 30 Jan 1892 Joshua F Fisher m. 2nd Elizabeth Bole on 6 Jun 1906 Children of Joshua and Rebecca: Mary Jane Fisher 1873-1886 never married, never had children (possibly named after his adopted mother Mary Jane) John Enoch Fisher 1876-1895 never married, never had children (possibly names after his adopted father John H Crate and his maternal grandfather Enoch Dye Thompson) William Kelso Fisher 1879-1956 never married, never had children (maybe named after his paternal grandfather???) Sarah Ann Fisher 1883-1919 m. William H Meredith (possibly names after her maternal grandmother) Samuel Alexander Fisher 1887-1920 never married, never had children (maybe named after his paternal grandfather???) Family history states Joshua F Fisher was adopted by a German family (possibly the Crate's) and that he was born in Schuylkill Co. The Rose Twp., Jefferson CO., PA 1860 census shows a Joshua Fisher living with John H Crate and his wife Mary Jane (Thrush)(daughter of Samuel Thrush and Sarah A Kirker)(Mary Jane aka Mary Jame and Mary Ann). The Rose Twp., Jefferson CO., PA 1870 census shows a Joshua Fisher living with John H Crate and his wife Barbara Ann Cyphert. I heard from a Crate researcher that John Henry Crate did not have any adopted children. Don't know where Joshua was in any 1850! Can't find him in any of the 1850 census lists from Jefferson Co or for Schuylkill Co. Possible family tragedy between 1846 and 1860, that left our Joshua orphaned. I suspect they maybe could be related through the Thrush family, but can't make the connection. Our Joshua named his first born girl Mary Jane likely after Mary Jane Thrush (1st wife of John Crate). She must have had a significant impact on him, either by being a relative of just being motherly to him in her short time with him. He named his first born son John (maybe after John Henry Crate) Enoch (middle name after his wife's father). His third born a son was named William Kelso (Kelso is a common name in his wife's family (Rebecca Todd Thompson)). His fourth born a daughter born, our Grandmother was named Sarah Ann (Sarah was his wife's mothers name). His fifth a son was named Samuel Alexander (might be a clue in this naming). >From the census records it appears he took in two Weaver children who seem to be related to his second wife Barbara Ann Cyphert (cousins). Joshua F Fisher enlisted in the Civil War in Sep 6 1864 and was discharged in Jun 2 1865 A lot of the Thrush's were members of the Lutheran Church in Newville. One Thursh married to a Nancy Fisher specifically catches my eye. That Nancy Fisher is the daughter of John FIsher and Mary Alleman. Among the family trees there is mention of "Old Dutch Church" and "Old Dutch Graveyard" and Grace Reformed Church. While this is all speculation and in the Thrush's are mostly in Cumberland Co., it's a bunny trail I at least must explore. On 4/27/2022 9:19 AM, kathydeiss via

开云体育In my early year of research I received so much information from this group and website that made large inroads into my family history.?? To get the group going again, I present this information on my Berks Co familyMy line originated with Paul Barlet who came to Berks in 1740 with his brother Conrad Their brother Han Wolf came earlier.? Paul married Catharine Werth My line comes from his son Sebastian Barlet who married Anna Maria Machmer; through Sebastian's son Joshua who married Maria Schaver The primary document for Sebastian's family comes from the over 155 pages of his son's Daniel Barlet's estate documentation.? These papers provide information on the family into the 1890's. Joshua's son Ephraim is my 3rd great grand father.? He was married to Susanna Anna Matternus.? While they had two children, only Henry Franklin Barlett survived into adulthood. Ephraim 2nd wife was Catharine Lewellen.? They are thought to have been married in the early 1870.? They had three children Isaac, David, and Jacob Barlet.? David died in infancy.?? Ephraim and Catharine died in 1873 and 1874 respectively and are buried in the Ivy Hill cemetery in Philadelphia.?? Isaac and Jacob were brought to Wells county Indiana by their Uncle Joseph Lewellen, Catharine brother.? Jacob married Sophia Frances Sutton and became my great grandparents.? The Barlet and Lewellen family are proven by documentation and DNA Connections. In addition to the families named there are tenative connection to the Miller family, Becker family, and the Kline family and several other mentioned in Daniel Barlet's probate records. I would be willing to share my documents and data to help others in their research, or to accept information to expand my knowledge of my families. Who on the list has researched in the 1720-1840 furnace and forge records of Berks/Philadelphia counties at HSP, State Archives, Hagley Library, Hopewell, CCHS or elsewhere.? Ledgers kept by the extended Rutter - Potts Family, Branson, Old and others.? Anyone?? Many who worked on the iron plantations owned no land and paid no taxes, but had families whose social and economic circumstances are evident from analysis of the ledger records kept by the ironmaster.? I have done a fair amount of research on my family, John Kerlin Sr. (1722-1812), first cousin of John Potts (ca.1710-1768).? Property or tax records for my Kerlin/Kirlin ancestors in Philadelphia or Berks County are few, but the furnace and forge records help to place family, neighbors and associates together and reveal their relative economic wealth. Anyone else research in furnace and forge ledgers of Philadelphia/Berks county? Also, to the person who has Douglass ancestors?? Ever read the Douglass store ledgers from the late 1700s-1840s.? They are at Jenssen Library of Berks History Center in Reading. George Kirlin On Sat, Apr 30, 2022 at 8:01 PM Sharon Mills <s.m.mills@...> wrote:
