John George Bechtel - immigration
¿ªÔÆÌåÓý
John George Bechtel (c1715 - c1750) is my
immigrant ancestor.? born in Germany.? In Hanover Twp. in 1745.??
Most bios & trees report that he immigrated
in 1743 on ship Robert & Alice. ?I suspect he immigrated in 1737 on ship William. ?First records I have found for him are in 1745: 1) purchase of property in Amity Twp.; 2) baptism of daughter at New Hanover Lutheran Church.
Anyone have a record(s) for John George, prior to 1745? ?Or
know where to look for any record?

Do you get any indication of age on either of the passenger lists, Robert and Alice or William?? There are Johann Georg Bechtel's to be found on familysearch.org, some born in Baden and some born in Bavaria. One family is in Mannheim, the home town of my Klingmann
family. Maybe one of the births would line up with one of the passenger-list ages...we can hope!! My Klingmann immigrants only had two children. Alexander's baptismal sponsor was Alexander somebody, can't really read, and the other was the father Georg's brother.
Might be worth a look to see if a Bechtel sponsored any of the brother, Johann Peter's seven children. They were born between 1732 and1737 in Mannheim.?
