This link will take you to a resource in the LiveBinders called Guidebook for the Proper Installation of Tactile Ground Surface Indicators (along with common installation errors to learn from). There are some other tactile guidance documents in the same binder. Also encourage you to connect them with Accessible Design for the Blind as they may have some new research projects going with new information,?

Hi Friends,
I am checking on how to advise a commercial shopping center to place a continuous tactile path along a painted path in a dark parking garage that is the only pathway from the front to the back of a building. It so happens that a blindness support group meets there. I have no experience with a continuous path, just truncated domes/tactile mats at blended curbs so any helpful advice would be greatly appreciated.?

Hi All- I have the opportunity to review some draft plans for street improvements in an urban area and there are dedicated bike lanes proposed for the space between the sidewalk and the street. These are not a shared ped/bike path, but a separate bike lane and my understanding is that these bike lanes WILL be installed so there's no point in suggesting otherwise. My question is about best practice for navigating the bike lanes to access ped buttons, street crossings, and curbside pick ups/drop offs; what should I be recommending to the engineers to include in the plans? TIA

We have HIGH ASPIRATIONS for this year’s SOMA O&M conference in Huntsville, Alabama, home of the U.S. Space and Rocket Center Space Camp!?
We've got more than 50 from across North America (Mexico to Alaska) and from overseas doing 40 sessions, with an amazingly diverse selection of topics for O&Ms working with students of all ages - everything from motivating movement in children, to working with adults with CVI.
21 hours of ACVREP-approved program
40 sessions, most of them repeated to give you more choices and fewer conflicts
As always, SOMA is leading the way with sessions that are interactive / hands-on / in-the-street, so bring your thinking cap and walking shoes!
?
FIELD TRIPS!
You might need your Space Suit, too -- we have arranged reduced-priced tickets you can purchase to two exciting field trips to enjoy before the conference:?
US Space and Rocket Center and its internationally-known Space Camp Program is just 15 minutes from the hotel! For $90 you can go to Space Camp where your group will receive astronaut training to complete a "space mission" and experience two space simulations.
Helen Keller’s Birthplace, Ivy Green, where you can see the well where she understood her first word.? The tour and transportation from the hotel is $35/person.
For conference registration and hotel information, go to

We look forward to launching into a great adventure with you!

I had a private email but it is buried and don’t recall the individual who emailed (it was late at night and I saw it on my iPad before falling asleep) and was going to answer on the laptop the following day about changing your subscription email address. For those unaware, it is ALWAYS located at the end of every email message with instructions on how to unsubscribe, etc. However, right on the group’s home page it has the below information:
