What have we done?
2
I was looking through our old Oaken Bucket and pondering all of us and the lives we've lived so far. Made me think about my own family. My parents Foster and Theda Hatch produced 5 children. I had two children and they had children etc. Well my brother and 3 sisters had more than I did. Mind you I only had two children and they only had three children so that's 5 people that Sue Harriman and I produced (yes she went to Oakland high) (3 years behind us) All together my family has produced the following list. Donna Marie Crowell (84) David Brown (Debbie) Alicia Agnew (Jasen) Lacey Austin Erin Dahill (Joe) Kona David Jr. Chase Deanna Johanson (Eric) Penny Elliot Wilbert (Skip) Thomas Brandon Amanda Sam Joanna Miller Zachary Bailey Savanna Leala Montes (Eric) Twins Jacob Riley Andrew Crowell Laken Patrick Crowell Evelyn Eleanor Kenneth Foster Hatch (Jan) Elise Akers (Matthew) Daniel Alix Benjamin Samantha Nicholas Mandy Michael Hatch Jennifer Wolfinden (James) Hunter Jasmyne Mason Luke Bryan Hatch Cynthia Frei (James) Jonathan Michael Steven Hatch (Natalie) Lorelai Lincoln Stephen Gilroy Hatch (Belinda) Linan Ukropina (Bill) Nicholas Grant Conrad Dana Grabowski (John) Mary Lynn Rosander (Richard) Eric and Gwen Kathryn Jakob Karl and Rosanna Ashley Samantha Kristina Parker Kirk and Gualalupe Richard Eve Kory Rosander Alyna Reagan (Jeremiah) Jeremiah jr Garett Marshall Anna Meyer (Jason) Benjamin Karyna Liberty Pierce (Jared) Noah Tesura Rosander Sally Ann Boutlette (Larry) Jessica Wright ( Daniel) Sophia Julian Amber Bauer (Christian) James kai Ian Wright

Fw: Quilts
----- Forwarded Message ----- From: Shirley Lee <sjroller@...> To: Andy <abl421@...> Sent: Wednesday, February 24, 2021, 12:14:57 AM PST Subject: Quilts Bonnie, Here is some pictures of quilts my spouse skillfully sew together. She's a perfectionist, if the sewing line is a bit off , she would undo and re-sew them....even though to the untrained eye like mine, I would never notice the slight error. The last quilt with followers pattern is being used as our bed spread. Andy L

Collections

Bonnie and all: Shirley is the real collector in our family, and I took the first two photos of quilts that were already on display without having her pull out more that she has tucked away. On the right of photo #1 there is a 17th century bread box in which royalty would lock up valuable bread so that the commoners couldn¡¯t get at it. At the top of photo #2 there is the Venetian chandelier she acquired in Venice. I¡¯m left with only one room in our house for anything I collect, and up to about 25 years ago I went after football helmets. I got most of them for free by writing to teams asking if they had any damaged ones they were throwing out, and they told me to come by and take a look. About 25 years ago two things happened. Teams became aware of their liability if someone would get injured wearing a helmet they gave away. The second was that companies began to sell helmets commercially, and everything became available. Prior to this, I was getting actual team-worn helmets including Fred Biletnikof¡¯s and those of Cal football players (Go, Bears!). And then I lost interest in chasing helmets, which have become great dust collectors in my den. Thank you for sharing, and we¡¯d like to see other classmates¡¯ collections, too. Clayton, CA, is on the exact opposite end of Mt. Diablo from us in San Ramon, and hopefully when things become normal again, we could come and see you and your quilts. We were lucky enough to have received our 2nd vaccine a week ago. Take care, Everyone.

I finished another building today. That's 5 more buildings to go on the railroad. https://railwayeng.com/Build/town2.jpg This is actually fun when I can get a whole building done in a day. I slowed down a bit and worked on a Banta building. It's coming out real well I sure like it's character. take a look https://www.railwayeng.com/Build/build100.jpg https://www.railwayeng.com/Build/build101.jpg https://www.railwayeng.com/Build/build102.jpg fun Steve

Sunday Mercury news
11
morning Gary Fong, Saw on the Sunday Mercury newspaper this morning in their travel section a picture of you and Shirley from past year when you traveled from Netherlands to Austria via a river cruise . In the picture you two were dressed in winter attire with a cloudy background. I think I saw this photo before, so the newspaper must be reusing it from their file due to lack of traveling this year. The air here in Belmont is pretty bad from the Santa Cruz wildfires, hoped its better in your nick of the woods. Stay healthy, Andy Lee

The RR addition

The basic framing is in and I've started the road bed. I use splines by sandwiching short blocks between 1/8 th by 1 inch laths. I cut the laths from 1/8th inch doorskin sheets. The blocks are 1 inch wide by 3-4 inches redwood fench boards (very cheep) here's the progress: http://www.railwayeng.com/9030railroad/Build/newspline1.jpg http://www.railwayeng.com/9030railroad/Build/newspline2.jpg http://www.railwayeng.com/9030railroad/Build/newspline3.jpg http://www.railwayeng.com/9030railroad/Build/newspline4.jpg http://www.railwayeng.com/9030railroad/Build/newspline5.jpg http://www.railwayeng.com/9030railroad/Build/newspline6.jpg I do the whole main line and then splice on the sidings etc. Seems to go real fast and easy for me. -Stephen Hatch

Finding out about my father
2
I've been recently looking into my Father and I'm trying to find out more about him William Joseph Espinoza. Friends family pictures would be nice I only know the few things that my mom has mentioned . He passed away from what I have discovered 01/04/2001 if there were any obituaries or documents that state how why and if he were cremated or if he were buried where the service was held. Just tapping into the other side of who I am.
