One of my 2 dogs died.?
She's been a bit sleepy for a couple days and then didn't come when i called her in last night. ?I found her this morning under a tree.??? i just finished burying Sophie. Teddy (other dog) helped me with the digging. I guess she was about 12 or so.? Never know with rescue dogs just how old they are. Sad.? I'll get over it because she was happy here for the last 6 years. At least there is that. Teddy and the cat think we should go get another one.? I think so too. Chickens didn't say. -Steve |

? I think all the animals around here know something happened.
?? Standing by the grave a moment ago with Teddy and a Road Runner came trotting across the yard toward us and stopped about 67 feet from the grave. Lokked at the dog and me several times.? Trotted over to the grave stopped.? Looked around a couple more times then trotted off .? Hopped the fence and left.?? Just then several (3) ring necked doves landed on the grave trotted around in a couple circles and left. ??? I know it's just curiosity at the fresh dirt BUT????? Sure curious that the did while Teddy and I were standing there. -Steve Hatch |

I am so sorry, Steve.? They leave a huge hole in your life & your heart when they pass on.? You can be comforted with the thought that you gave her a good life while she was with you.? I have a lot of animals buried around this place.? It will be interesting when someone goes digging around here & finds all the bones.
Yes, get another one.? There are lots of good dogs at the shelters.? They make good companions.

Animals know.? They may not totally understand but they know & they grieve also.
