Welcome 2021!

 

Happy New Year, OC-CERT and welcome to our new members!

Here are a few updates from the land of CERT:

1.? The American Red Cross will be hosting a presentation regarding revolutionizing emergency response using technology.? The presentation is free and will be held on January 28, 2021.? You must register in advanced here:??

2.? If you have not taken the CERT Basic Training course yet, I highly suggest that you take it.? It provides a level of training that is beyond what I can offer.? The Basic Course is available online.? The in-person portion of the course will be completed at the HMB Fire Station.? For more information, please visit:??

3.? It's time to go shopping.? Update your go-bag with emergency supplies.? Here's a great site:??

4.? Want to have a ready radio that alerts you when something is happening in your area?? Check out the Midland WR120.? Amazon sells it here:??

5.? Are your fire extinguishers in good working order?? Do you need to recharge yours?? Would you like to purchase extinguishers for you home?? Contact your local expert at?Bubba's Fire Extinguisher Service 650.712-8260.

6.? The new year brought some change for some that prevents volunteers from participating at our weekly WT Net.? If this sounds like you, let me know.? Maybe, we can move our Net to a more convenient night.

7.? We will be conducting our first quarterly drill.? I'm shooting for the 1st weekend of February on 2/6/21.? Can everyone make it?? If so, I will begin planning for it.? Please monitor our groups.io for updates.
