I will be mobile. ? ? ? Dennis, FYI - Muirfield-2 / Rose & EJ will be mobile (on foot) EJ ? ? UPDATE:
I was hoping more would participate in this exercise.? But, I have waited long enough.? The following have signed up to participate in the exercise: Eagle353 Reuben - volunteer Eagle368 Alex - CERT Carnoustie127 Trish - volunteer Pembroke10 Richard - CERT Muirfield2 EJ (and maybe Rose) - volunteer(s) RiverOaks20 Steve - volunteer WingedFoot 2101 Paul - CERT and Ham Eagle361 Dennis - CERT and Ham
That's 4 CERTs, 2 Hams, and 3 Volunteers (neither CERT-certified nor Ham).?
Not sure: WingedFoot475 Suzie BurningTree2320 Andrew RiverOaks60 Mike ??? Ruth Dunn
They might not have received our emails.? If you know them, please let them know about our drill.??
I have secured the use of the main Coastside repeater and another volunteer to act as the DOC during the exercise.? It would help me greatly if you can tell me whether or not you will be mobile (on foot/bicycle/skateboard/etc) during the exercise.? Personally, I wil be setting up a station at the Rally Point (beside the 2nd hole tee box).? I will be handing out scripts to everyone by the weekend.? This is a historical event.? This will be the first ever CERT exercise conducted by Ocean Colony.? So, let's make this count.? We are still good to go for FEB6!
Some ground rules: 1.? If you're mobile, wear your mask. 2.? Volunteers will not "enter" a structure. 3.? CERTs will be busier than before. 4.? We will not be able to cover ALL of OC during the exercise. 5.? If you have a ham radio, you are welcome to listen to the chatter between OC and DOC.? But, please do not transmit. 6.? If you have a go-bag or emergency gear, prepare them.? But, you don't have to bring your gear with you during the exercise. 7.? If you have any questions, please let me know before the exercise.? 8.? If you know of other residents who wish to participate, please let me know. 9.? All residents who possess an FRS radio can tune in on CH2 and LISTEN during the exercise. 10.? Do not use your cell phones during the exercise.? We will only be using our WTs.
Stand by for more.

Mutual Aid CERT Request for Coastside CERTs
Please note, Coastside CERT has not been officially activated, yet.? However, they South Coast CERT has and is in need of assistance particularly with volunteers who are Ham CERTs.? If you are interested in helping, this happens right now: Greetings Coastside CERTs who attended the Mudslide & Debris Flow Webinar (+ a few more):
?
As you have seen from several sources this evening, communities to the south of us in the CZU Burn Scar Area are receiving evacuation warnings and evacuation notices in advance of serious rain and wind events anticipated to begin tomorrow evening.?
?
South Coast CERT (Branch 3), South Skyline CERT (Branch 4), and Kings Mountain CERT were activated this evening to assist with notifying residents in affected areas to evacuate tomorrow. This is an example of the notice they received:
?
CERT Activation South Coast CERTS are asked to report at 9:30 am on Tuesday, Feb 26 to Pescadero High School to notify residents at approximately 500 addresses in rural areas around Pescadero of an evacuation order. This must be done before rains begin Tuesday night as there is a high danger of very hazardous debris flow and mudslides in areas affected by the CZU fires. CERTS should wear rain gear, rain boots, and masks to be COVID-safe. Those who have 4-wheel drive vehicles should bring them.
?
While Coastside CERTs are not officially activated, if you would like to participate on a mutual aid basis, you are welcome to do so. Please follow the instructions above and report to Pescadero High School at 9:30 tomorrow, 1/26, at 9:30 AM to be sworn in and be given a list of residences to notify. If you do decide to participate,?please text me at 310-429-9197 on your way to Pescadero and on the way home?for accountability purposes - Chief Cosgrave and I need to know who is joining this mission and ensure you have returned home safely afterward.?
?
Thank you,
Cynthia

Hi Everyone,
Good news!? External communications support and permissions for our drill have been secured.? So, we are good to go.? At this point, we have 13 volunteers in OC.? I will need to know now if anybody is NOT available to participate in our drill scheduled for February 6 at 10:00AM for one hour (FEB6 Drill).? I need everyone to respond to this email if you are IN along with resources you will have at your disposal (bicycle, binoculars, bandages, etc.).? That way, I can designate roles with the resources we have.? Now is the time to act and we need you.? For those who have done this before, it should be a cake walk for you and we might need you to mentor/lead new volunteers.? If this is your first time and you are nervous/anxious/confused/lost/nowhere near ready, let me know.? Let your neighbors know; some might want to join.
FYI, COVID-19 safety protocols will be in effect.? If you plan to be mobile for the drill, you will need to wear eye protection, mask, and gloves.? If you are CERT-certified, practice prepping your gear.? All must make sure your walkie-talkie radios (WTs) are fully charged and properly configured.? I suggest that we all participate in the weekly Net on the 1/20, 1/27, and 2/3.

I'm naming it the "FEB6 Drill". ? Dennis, I am available. What are we calling? this ?? Shake Out 2 ? ? Richard A. Lotti Ralotti27@... 408-202-0637 ? ?
