Extra items for your CERT go-bag
Thanks to Captain Mike and EJ for reminding me to send this out.? Here are some items that I recommend that you add to your CERT go-bag (and a few more):
1.? Emergency gas and water shut-off tool
2.?Big permanent marker
3.? Head lamp
4.? First-aid kit or trauma kit
5.? Chin strap
6.? Multi-tool
7.? Hard hat clips for your headlamp
8.? Leather gloves
9.? Duct tape
10.? Walkie talkie
11.? N-95 masks
12.? Knee pads
13.? A pad of paper
14.? Any prescription medicine for yourself
15.? Spare eyeglasses/sunglasses
16.? Band-aids
17.? At least one pen
18.? Clipboard
19.? Extra batteries and chargers
Don't forget to bring your favorite emergency rations (I prefer Snickers bars) and a refillable water bottle.? These should fill up your pack quite nicely.? Coastside CERT would like to welcome all graduated CERTS to join us for our 2022 Advanced CERT Training(ACT) classes. The full schedule of class dates is available on the Coastside CERT website .?These classes will give us all a chance to focus on a specific CERT skill or topic and to get hands-on practice with the topic if appropriate.
Our first ACT class for 2022 will be on the oft-requested advanced CERT training topic of:
Traffic Management
This class will provide training on how to support our first responders or our neighbors in the event of a CERT activation where traffic management is needed. We are lucky to have long-time instructor, Foster City Officer Doug Nix, as our trainer for this important topic.
