Plea for help
4
Dear OASA members, I am sending out this email to ask for your help with the shows we have planned for the coming year! It is imperative that members step up to be Show Secretary, ring steward, help set up and tear down!! As you may or may not know, Steve Gibson has been hospitalized several times over the last three weeks. Without going into all the details I can say that Steve has been diagnosed with a heart issue and cancer. Please give them space as they adjust to this new life change. Due to the above news, Liz will not always be available to deal with the shows. So PLEASE step up and help with our shows. If there isn't help, there won't be shows. Sincerely; Kathy Peycke OASA Secretary

OASA Voting, Show Schedule and other information
4
Dear OASA members, As you know the end of the year is upon us and we forgot nominations for Club Officers. This is due to various and sundry life events that get in the way. A recommendation was made that we keep the Officers as seen below for the coming year, 2022. President - Liz Gibson Vice-President - Connie Gohl Treasurer - Steve Gibson Secretary - Kathy Peycke Affiliate Representative - Debbie Martin Board Member at Large - Brian Banning Show Coordinators - Connie Gohl Kathy Peycke If this is agreeable to you please respond with an affirmative vote by November 30. If you disagree with this please respond with a negative vote by November 30. We will be using email on this vote. Please send your email to kmpeycke@.... Next, we are looking at several interesting education events for next year. The first would be a semi-local Chiropractor who would come and talk to us about the benefit of adjustments for our dogs. After the discussion he will be available to adjust other dogs present for a fee. We would need to guarantee him at least 5 dogs for him to come do the presentation and adjustments. We will put an email out as we solidify the time and place, you can then let us know if you want a spot. We are also looking into having an introduction to Barn Hunting. At this time we are waiting for more information. We will pass on information when we know more. 2022 Show Schedule - possible June 2022 weekend of July 4th ASC of WA September at Camp Kalama If you would like to volunteer to be Show Secretary for any of these events please email our Secretary so we can put you on our calendar. Last but not least it is time for membership renewal. Please print off the attached form and mail it to K. Peycke 910 South 101st. Street Seattle, Washington 98168 Thank you for your continued membership and participation in OASA. Can't wait to see you all next year. Sincerely, Kathy Peycke

July shows
7
Hi All, So ASCWA has invited OASA to go in with the July shows. The dates would be July 2nd thru the 5th. July 2nd is set up day. ASCWA will do shows/trials on Saturday (July 3rd) and Sunday( July 4th). OASA would do 2 shows on Monday (July 5th) which is the Federal Holiday. Our fee would be approx.. $500.00 split up between set up, show day, Porta Potties and garbage removal. We would receive any camping fees for Sunday night. I may not be able to attend as I have a litter that would be due that weekend. We would have to use local judges only. Airfares are climbing and rental cars are totally outrageous now. A 3 day rental use to be about $100 is now over $350! We have prizes and ribbons available. Need volunteers for Show Secretary and Ring Stewards. Help is available in hiring judges. Thoughts? Suggestions? Ideas? Thanks, Liz Liz Gibson Merribrook and Drift Creek Australian Shepherds Hall of Fame Kennel Breeder of Merit

A few things more
Hi All, I received a call from ASCWA. They are putting on a show on March 28th and 29th in Chehalis in the community Events Building. We were asked is we would please take on the Sunday shows (March 29th). I have given a tentative yes. Remember, ASCWA has had us co-host shows many times and we help each other out at these events. ASCWA provides all the mats which are needed in this building. The profits from Sunday would be ours. We need to get on judges right away if we are to do this. Sanctioning would need to be to the ASCA office by Jan. 29th. I am willing to take on one show if someone will step up and take the other! Thoughts! Volunteer????? I will contact the show sites to confirm that contracts are set. 2) We need to have a special election for Vice President. Connie Blowers decided to not renew her membership and as she was elected Vice President, that office is now vacant. Nominations please…… 3) Many of you may know Crystal Ray. We all know she lost her husband last year and just now lost her daughter Cheryl. I would like to ask that the club donates some cash to her to help her in this troubling time. Maybe $250.00??? Thoughts? 4) Year End financial report. We are waiting for the December 2019 Bank Statement to come in to finalize the yearend report. Are the minutes from the last two OASA meetings available. I understand the last meeting minutes may not be approved at this time, but could they at least be sent out on the understanding they are not approved? Current list of members (no contact info necessary)? Thank you so much. Hilary

Club Policies
Hi All, I wanted to send this all to you. These are our club policies. We have By-Laws and then we have a policy/procedure list. These were created when the club was first formed. The By-Laws are the standard By-Laws that all clubs must use and were created by ASCA. We can only change a by-law by petitioning the ASCA Board. Policies are created by the affiliate club board. These are usually anything that a club wants followed for their club and events that are not covered in the by-laws. Hope this explains our policies. Possible Obed/Rally trial
Joan charges $100 a day for her facility. That would be $50.00 for each trial. I have heard Jan has stayed with Joan in the past, but don't want to take that for granted. In the past, Jan has charged $50 for each trial. We would split transportation costs with Cascade. Hilary
