Totality and unfiltered binos

This is safe as long as it's during totality...right?

Cheers,
Albert.?

Yes. But the danger is not knowing when the photosphere of the sun
peeks out from behing the moon at the end of totality. I plan to set a
timer to fire 10 second before the end of totality to give me time to
look away.

Hey Attilla,
Is there a good website where??I can plug in the?coordinates?

Also...where are you going to view the eclipse?? I'll be at Challies Pond just NE of Morrisburg. I'll combine my love for astronomy and fishing all in one go!

cheers,
Albert.

USNO's eclipse timings are the gold standard:
<>

I've captured USNO eclipse timings for all clear sky charts on the
eclipse path. Look in the "nifty links" section of a clear sky chart's
web page.

where are you going to view the eclipse?
The current CMC cloud forecast of the eclipse hour shows much of
Ontario's weather will be dogdy:
<>

So, I will be deciding where to go just a few hours before the eclipse
based on satellite imagry of clouds (Non of this silly forecast ==
guessing stuff.)
<>

(which, btw is linked from each clear sky chart in the "Near-Realtime
Satellite Imagry of Clouds" link in "nifty links")

Btw, this is my version of the same satellite image showing the eclipse track:

No amimation controls, though.

I’m going 100% Digital, I have 2:47 seconds so I’ll have a 2:30 countdown to give myself 15second to recap the optics.

I’ll be live streaming and having family down so kudos to those who will travel for clearest of skies; I’ll be step up and stationary.

Hopefully clear skies,
