You are making me homesick! ?We moved to Ottawa from Los Alamos, NM, just a bit north of Cochiti Lake, back in 2018. ?I know Cochiti Lake well. ?Ironically, when we lived in NM the astronomy bug lay dormant in me. ?It wasn’t until last year that I renewed my interest in the skies and now I am lamenting the amazing skies that I left behind in the mountains of NM. ?I had contemplated going back to view the eclipse in my old stomping grounds of NM, but I have family in San Antonio, TX - and therefore a place to stay and use of a car while there - which tipped the scales towards the Lone Star State. ?I was trying out a new Hydrogen-alpha scope, but purely in visual mode so I have no pictures to share. ?However, your images look very similar to what I saw.
Thanks for bringing a smile to my face. ?I hope you had the opportunity to eat some chiles while you were there. ?
