Eclipse

My first eclipse and my first foray into imaging (see grainy thing below).

I believe I'm hooked for life on both counts :)

Wow! An amazing capture of prominences, even though not completely in totality.? Looking forward to your captures from future eclispes.

Finally got around to looking at the shots I took of totality.? ?I didn't expect much because I was determined *not* to use my camera during the event; I wanted to ensure I saw it, so I was intentionally unprepared.? Still, I couldn't help grabbing my camera during totality.? ?I fired off a hand-held shot, chimped it and could see I had the wrong ISO setting and was not bracketing exposure.? I started fooling with my camera for several precious seconds of totality when I thought: WTF am I doing?? I slammed a -3 EV exposure compensation into the settings and took this final photo on a prayer.?

It doesn't quite capture the detail I saw, but it's not a bad memento.

Hey, for a shoot-from-the-hip shot, that looks damn good. ?It’s a great image of the corona and a prominence. ?Nothing wrong with that pic.

That looks great. A bit further enhancement, sharpening etc. might make it fantastic.
