Hey Greg,
I shot that one through an 11" EdgeHD, reduced 0.7x to ~1970mm. Bortle 4

Re: Shadow Transit
Interestingly, I observed the two dark "barges" that seem to be clinging to the southern edge of the NEB in your shot.? The seeing was good enough for me to track the first shadow all the way to the

Here’s one I took recently of the Deer Lick and quintet also. It’s a fun target.

Re: Shadow Transit
Interesting. I don't recall ever before seeing the mottled nebulosity
between 7331 and the quintent.

Re: Shadow Transit
Matt, I'm very impressed with what you can achieve with a DSLR.? You're getting the same detail I am able to get with a C8 and dedicated planetary camera.
Since you guys are showing off your images

Does the coolness ever end! Which calculator is the best. I want to see

Re: More Planetary
Hi All,
Just a quick share from 2022-Oct-3 -- my second night out trying to get Jupiter while it's relatively close (and my second night ever trying planetary).
The seeing was pretty good that night

Re: More Planetary
Nice one Matt reminds me of one of the first sketches I did of Jupiter mid 70s.
However your shot is light years better.
Ps welcome back to the area.
