Re: If it clears very soon - FLO tonite?
I got your message. I found your directions from a few weeks ago. I won't
be able to leave until about 20:00. Is that too late for you? I would be
in Almonte at about 08:30. Could I meet you at

Hi Bruce! Naw it's only 7:29pm, plenty of time. You need directions

Right! OK, so we've established that the idea of observing tonite is
less nutty than a fruitcake -- good first step. I'll begin packing
the van just in case:
a) it does actually clear

Re: Future sidewalk session in Perth
That sounds just great! If you do manage to get some free publicity
for that kind of event, perhaps we should offer some kind of rain date
to be publicized for that event as well. Good going!

Re: If it clears very soon - FLO tonite?
This is for bells corners, not quite as far west as kanata.
There are big sections of blue sky. All of the clouds are broken cumulus.
There is no cirrus. There is a low haze as well. But the clouds

I spoke with someone I know at the Perth newspaper today and mentioned that at some point we would like to do a public astronomy night for the town of Perth so he said since no company was

If it clears very soon - FLO tonite?
It is now 100% cloud cover here in Orleans at 6:38pm. I need someone
who can tell me if it looks clear or like clearing out in the West
End. How's Kanata?
ONLY IF IT DOES GET CLEAR ;-) I would

right, we're in for clear skies starting about 20:00. Is that right?
Where and when?

My gosh, you're right - it looks down right blueish out there. The sky
that is. Let me get home and I'll check the usual suspects to see what

Re: Just some food for thought
For sidewalk stuff, zero interest is exactly as perfect as 3+/month.
The purpose, I believe, is for each to do whatever astronomy's ok for
you, and perhaps to share whatever that is with friends

NIce poll. ONe thought....I think that sidewalk astronomy is
seasonal. Short of going "out with the Scouts", the late nightfall
makes summer sidewalking difficult. The winter, on the other hand,

I don't believe that it is our intention to be a dedicated sidewalk astronomy group. I know that this wouldn't do it for me. I like sidewald astro., but nothing compares with a

Just some food for thought
Public Astronomy sessions are a great way to introduce new people to
our hobby - to this I agree with all my heart. Personally my hobby is
astronomy (astro photography) not sidewalk astronomy.
