Hi Older Adult Education supporters,
For those of you who live in West Contra Costa County, here is some important information about the search for a new superintendent for our district.? An online survey is now open; the link is in the email below.? This survey is a great chance to raise the issue of education for older adults and point out why it is so important. There will also be a series of in-person community input sessions.? The schedule is below.
Some encouraging news about the superintendent search: the union for West Contra Costa Adult Education teachers, Adult School Teachers United, was invited to give input on the superintendent search.? I thought we would be on a call with all the other WCCUSD unions and would maybe get a chance to say a sentence or two.? I was pleasantly surprised that I and? one other ASTU member met with a representative of the consultant that is conducting the superintendent search, and we were given a half hour to make our comments.? I made sure that I mentioned all the Older Adults programs in West County!? So let's keep up the momentum.
Also,?Contra Costa County commissions appointments are now open, and information and applications are available online.? So if you are interested in serving on a county commission, now is the time to apply.
