Is anyone out there using the Olympus P400 dye sub printer? I have read good reviews and also had some good recommendations... BUT.. Where does one get the printer"ribbons" for these and how much are they? I have not seen them for sale..(and as you see... don't even know the proper name!) How many 8x10's are in a ribbon, etc? Has anyone used the D1 or D1x in jpeg mode and used photoshop to tweak then used the P400 as the final output? If so...yea or nay? And if not... WHY not? Thanks, Tim

I have not but I cannot imagine there would be any problems using it. It all attaches via the lens mounts so it should be body independent. Glenn

I think you wll see D1H's out there very soon!! PJ's are dying to get them in!! IMHO, they will be out before the 760's!! The 760 is an awesome system, but IMHO a wee bit too bulky for your PJ on the run!! I did it for a while back in 1987, & I didn't want to carry anyting too big!! But that was me:-) NO, I don't think the D1H is Vaporwware!! But they always said that they would come out after the D1X!! The D1-H are the improved version of the original D1. Same file size, quicker image transfer to the flash card, lower res when compare to the D1-X. In the next month GSA contracts are required to be filled and after that the camera will be ship to Non GSA customers.

Guys, IT'S TRUE!!! Nikon WILL be doing a Firmware Update on teh D1X's!! The deales have given Nikon USA our Names, addresses & Telephone Nuimbers for Nikon to contact us all!! We might have to send the D1X's back (at Nikon's expense) for the upgrade to be performed!! I hope thery return them fast!! Y

Other than an ocassional Japanese outburst, my body also "sometimes" doesn't recognize the AF-D Nikon lenses!! It behaves like there was no lens connected to the body!! Even with a Nikon AF-D lens on it, you only see two small lined to the right of the shutter speed on the main display on top!!! Has this ever happened to any of you??? Y:-)
