Re: Zane's workflow
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýThat rings a few bells, Zane except that I opted for a Windows based system as I was using it extensively at work. ? Good luck sorting it all out. ? Bob ? Sent from for Windows ? From: Zane Healy

It sounds like our setups have some of the same problems. ?All my disk space is on the Mac Pro, it has 4 internal drives, as well as 3 external drives, and a Drobo. ?So adding external space to the MacBook Pro to move everything over isn¡¯t cheap. ?As a result, the MacBook Pro simply mounts the Mac Pro disks over the network (hence the NAS). ?Part of my problem is cost, part of it is that I can¡¯t decide on what sort of a disk solution to sink my money into. ?I¡¯d be buying another Drobo as part of the storage, if they hadn¡¯t gone under. ?I¡¯d also like to move some of the data off of the Mac, and onto a NAS. ? ? I¡¯m currently standardized on 4TB drives, I have have a backup copy of each HD that I keep offsite, and a couple disks have a second copy that I keep here at home. ?I also have Cloud backups of my data, and the most important is also backed up by Apple Time Machine. ?Yes, I¡¯m big into Backups. ? Actually I have a Veeam server (backups) for my home lab that¡¯s copying some of the backups over to the Drobo on the Mac Pro (it¡¯s acting as a NAS for that as well), so that the backups then get copied to my cloud backup provider. ?This enables me to have offsite copies of the backups of my OpenVMS cluster. ?Needless to say, nothing is normal about my computer setup here at home. ?
