¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi Jon ? The process you describe is how RAW or in the case of Nikon NEF files work.? Very basically, the RAW file is just data with no adjustments whatsoever ¨C it¡¯s data straight off the camera sensor. ? You are correct, any adjustments made to the RAW file are saved in a separate, small file which is referenced when you open the file again.? Naturally you can save different versions and use a different name as with other formats. ? RAW files are lossless unlike some other formats in common usage. ? I hope that helps ? Bob ? PS ¨C I shoot NEF and jpg at the same time so that I have something quickly available without having to spend time processing the image in the RAW [NEF] file.. ? ? ? ? From: Jon

When you export it then it creates an image file with the adjustments made. This way you can still have the original image for adjustments down the road.? ? Others with more experience may correct me. ? Jon ? On Mon, Apr 3, 2023 at 13:56 zigmonde1 via <zigmonde1=[email protected]> wrote:
