Locking Up

Dean,

Any input on the emails from yesterday.

When I try to launch the program with windows 10 it won't be past the logo page and says the program has stopped working.

If you can give me some info maybe I can fix it or I will have to reload the program from scratch. This is locking up on my Logger Laptop I use when NCS.

Appreciate any help you can give me

Dwight,

This is a file permission problem on your Win machine. Try running ad
administrator. If this does not work give me a call.

I just got a brand new Windows 10 computer and the logger works perfectly for me. KM9U

Morning, I reloaded the program, left the computer off for 4 days and low and behold last night it launched. I put the new backup file from my other computer in and it seems to be working just fine.

I have also had fairly regular problems with the window coming up saying "cclogger.exe has stopped working".? I've got the reload, update, and restore down to under 10min., but question is about FCC database.
After a crash and reload the FCC info displayed is NOT the current update, but if I try to upload the FCC Update it tells me I already have the latest version?????? Any suggestions??

What version of Windows are you using? Can you give any more details such
as what you were doing when the logger stopped working.

Open up your fccversion.txt file and tell me what you have. I can compare
it to the server.

I run windows 10 everytime I run the CC longer I have to reload it even though I have the latest version

I am running a Gateway model NE56R laptop w/ Intel Pentium CPU B950@ 2.10 Ghz.? It has 4.00GB RAM (3.84 GB usable).? It’s a 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor.? My C: Drive shows 82.7 GB used out of 465 GB.? The operating system is Windows 10 Home.

I have had instances in the past where I would download FCC Update, and the message was that everything was OK, but if I tried to open View/FCC Data I got a blank window (window opened up normally but all lines blank), haven’t seen that in quite some time, assuming that problem has been corrected.? But on account of that there is still a sense of trepidation when downloading Update.

As to what I’m doing when the logger stops working, I have no clue, since I don’t know when it stops.? All I can tell you is that if I close the program it seems to be a low percentage of the time that it will re-open.? Usually no other programs open that might be affecting anything.

As to opening fccversion.txt, I believe that has already been done.? If that that’s the one that comes up in notepad with just the 3-didit identifier, I’ve checked that (even tried to edit it to different number to see if that would allow Update!) and it displays the number of current FCC version.? However, The reason I ran the update was because someone checked in with a call that did not appear in the FCC version that I had loaded.? I ran the update and that particular call came up in the database just fine, until I closed the program and tried to re-open.? I ran Set Up Wizard and got program to open, but that particular callsign does not appear in the database, but if I try to download update I get the message that I already have the latest version (??????).

Anything else you need to know?
