I had one complaint about this regarding Windows 10.

Are you using Windows?

Visual Studio has a know issue with closing com ports. Once opened, can never close it, and must exit and restart the grill software.

I found a way to work around the problem with Windows 8.1 , but I don't have a Windows 10 computer.
