N7YG Digital Interface (RTTY) with ACL

 

I decided to finally install N7YG with ACL so I had could easily work DX RTTY and still have ACL active. The install was easy, and I got it up and running with few bumps. However, I still have some issues. If I want to do some freestyle keyboard "Talking" to a station, how can I do that? During this recent RTTY RU, using other contest software, I had several reasons to type messages to the other station. Can this be done with N7YG when only using ACL? The second issue was ACL not logging the QSO as RTTY. In ACL I have "Rig Interface /Mode Determined By" set to "Don't Use". In W7YG I have "Send Mode". How do I get N7YG to report RTTY as the mode when logging through N7YG?

Thanks for your e-mail.? Ctrl T and Ctrl R put N7YG Digital Engine in transmit and receive for freestyle typing.? I've only used DE with the contesting software (and it continued to work flawlessly this past weekend), so I can't speak to how it handles mode when connected to AC Log myself, but you will find the N7YG Digital Engine support group here:

Thank you, Scott. That worked fine. I'll get with the DE group and see what I need to do regarding mode and ACL. I'll try N3FJP contest software for CQ WPX RTTY next month. I'm sure it will work well although I am concerned regarding the availability of current multiplier information.
