Mode Determined by Frequency - Doesn't seem to work

Hi,
?
In Settings -- Rig Control, there's a setting checkbox, "Mode Determined by Frequency". The description of this feature in the help document says, "When operating digital modes, under the Mode By options, select Mode by Frequency (to return the digital mode based on frequency)."
?
I have not set up the Rig Control to operate the radio (Radio: None), as I have other digital mode software perform the rig control (WSJT-X, JS8Call etc). However, it appears from the description that ACLOG will set the mode based on the frequency entered (manually, or by the other software) into the frequency field. But this does not occur. When I enter 14.074 in the frequency box, the mode does not change to FT8. Similarly, when I enter 14.300, it does not change to SSB.?
?
Does Mode by Frequency only work if ACLOG is responsible for rig control? In other words, it won't update the mode based on the frequency typed into the Frequency box by hand?

Hi N3JF,

Thanks for your e-mail.? The mode is inferred from the frequency returned by your rig with that option selected.? It has no affect on the mode provided by an API connected program.

Enjoy!

I think this requires a revamp or the band[plan txt file to show the digital modes.? I looked at it actually today, and it would require editing for each American class, but does not include our Canadian band plan.
