JRC JST-245 connection to AC
Good morning everybody? .... an update to my request to see if AC can connect to a JST-245.
?
Looking over the 245's manual and using PuTTY with serial settings set at 4800 baud, 8 data bits, no parity, 1 stop bit, no flow I was able to get a reply from the radio ..."I" followed by enter gets me a reply of I102143000020?
?
I=header code
1=antenna in use (1)
0=bandwidth (wide)
2=mode (USB)
14300002 (hertz)
0=AGC (Slow)
?
In AC Log, if I was to select Other for a rig, set baud to 4800 and other info exactly as I have it in PuTTY, and enter I for frequency command, I get nothing.?
However when I enter 49 0D for a frequency command, I do get a reading but it shows up in the "unprocessed data return" window as I102143000020
?
Is there a way AC can parse that data string so that it only reads the frequency???
?
Thanks!

Hi Clark, Thanks for your e-mail.? There isn't a way to code the Other selection to perform all the associated rig interface functions.? It is only designed for testing sending commands to a rig, as you are doing now. Each selection is hard coded individually for each rig protocol. We are unfamiliar with the equipment you mentioned.? If the interface protocols match one of the existing rigs listed here, you should be able to use it with our software. We don't have access to the rig you mentioned.? It is very difficult to code rig interface for equipment that we can't actually attach to our development environment and we are knee deep in other aspects of the logging software at this point, so we aren't planning on circling back to rig interface coding at this time. I'm sorry that we didn't have the answer you were hoping for. ¿ªÔÆÌåÓýThe solution is easy.? For me at least.? I try to be explicit when asking for help.? I try to be very explicit when offering help.? ? Vy73 - Mike - KD5KC. El Paso, Texas - DM61rt. SOTA W5T-Texas Association Manager.
