Contest questions (WFD)

Scott,
First of all, this is absolutely awesome.? I believe our club has been using N3FJP for our 2nd or 3rd year with contesting so we really enjoy this feature.? I have two questions regarding Hamdash itself.
First, we noticed that multipliers appeared to be listed for clubs still actively recording qsos.? We initially thought they must have been finished and already submitted their logs but we noticed they were still active and running a frequency.? I was just curious as to how and when the multipliers get applied.
?
Second is the setup of Hamdash itself.? Our club has a mobile trailer with 3 rigs but we may rotate about 10-20 operators on those rigs.? We are using 3 rigs connected to their own logging station and 1 pc as the server saving our logs and uploading to hamdash. How do we associate more operators than rigs to appear in Hamdash?? If it is not currently, would it be a difficult change to recognize the operator as they sign in?? This second part is difficult to put together in words, so forgive me if it seems all over the place. I see on your club's website and Hamdash page how you have many operators.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for your e-mail.? Hamdash receives the values uploaded from the connected PC.? It doesn't calculate or modify the score in any way on receipt.? Individual programs calculate score based on each individual contest rules and multipliers (when applicable), before upload.??

The most recent version of Winter Field Day has been updated for the latest? WFD rule changes and only reflects QSO points (2 for CW / DIG and 1 for SSB).? Some folks were still running previous versions which also calculated the band / mode slot multipliers, that the new rules removed.? That is why some scores are significantly higher.

For other contests, when each of your members are operating from home and uploading to HamDash, you will see each operator's call on HamDash.? Since you were are all at one site in one multi transmitter operation for Winter Field Day, you are handling HamDash properly, with one PC uploading your combined total score for your club.? ?More details on how HamDash works are here:

Thanks so much for your kind words.? I'm glad you had fun and enjoyed HamDash!

73, Scott
