AC Log, Shell function Error for uploading?

 

Hi Folks, Has anyone found a solution this this nagging problem?

Running latest AC log and TQSL versions on Windows 7.

Please, any ideas. Scott’s recommendations haven’t helped

Hi Dick,

Thanks for your e-mail.? I'm sorry that you have run into trouble.??The Shell Error is usually associated with your LoTW / TQSL settings in AC Log. It often comes to light when you have LoTW set to upload on entry, or you try an upload from the LoTW form, but you are not properly configured for LoTW.

Please click eLogs > LoTW and complete these step by step instructions here. Pay special attention to Step 4.


Then do a test upload from the LoTW form. Once you can upload from the LoTW form, you can go ahead and reenable the upload on entry option if you wish.

If your Shell error includes permission denied, giving AC Log the proper permissions in your protection program will remedy that.

Upgrade to at least Windows 10.? Windows 11 is best.? That’s what I did.? Best thing I ever did!

This is a shot in the dark, but Windows 7 does not have the necessary SSL libraries to function in todays Internet unless you have actually found the Patch that was provided to business to fix that issues.? Win 7 Home and Win 7 Pro did not contain libraries for SSL2 and greater.? Do yourself a favor and upgrade before you find that your windows 7 computer is just a paperweight.
