13 Colonies Bug?

Hi

The 13 Colonies is a very nice feature in ACLog.?? Easy way to click and find the colonies you are looking for.?

A minor bug seems to be that it will only show the contacts you have made today, and not the contacts that you have made in this year's contest. Yesterday I made 12 of the 13 colonies and the TM extra.? This morning when I started it up, only the colony that I caught after midnight shows in blue. I grabbed my last colony and it now it shows the two colonies only in blue.? When I close the window, the very nice report does show all of the colony contacts that I have made this year.? Is this intended, or should it be showing all of the contacted colonies for this year in blue?? I did download again the Countries and restarted ACLog with the same results. ?

One quick recommendation for folks using this....?? I was trying to get the last 3 colonies, and would click on the Green (uncontacted) colony and try for a bit and if unsuccessful, just click on the next colony I was looking for.? I got my butt chewed by the colony operator of K2C.? I clicked in on Green K2C in the ACLog window and hit him with my call when he called "CQ K2C Colonies".? He relied "K4EES, is? a 6 callsign?"? I think he wanted to add "jerk" at the end.?? I told him no and asked if he was playing the 'Numbers game'.? He said he was and, of course, I apologized.? But, he didn't say he was calling for 6's on that exchange....? the only one I had heard. ?

Anyway, thanks Scott for the 13-Colonies feature.? It's made the 'contest' easy to work.

Some operators have short fuses. This should be a fun, spirited event, especially with the turmoil in the country today.?

My 13 Colony list are still all showing blue. All since the ones from July 1st. Works fine here.

Not a problem with 13 colonies, even shows last years contacts in a different color.

I see no issues using it,

As another data point, mine are still all blue and I completed my sweep within the first 29 hours.

As a side note, it is good practice to always listen to the operator's routine for a short time before jumping into the pile.

Hi Ken,

Thanks for your e-mail.? The only reason I can think of is that you inserted a QSO with an earlier date than the 13 Colonies window.? Clicking File > Sort log on date will remedy that.

I hope this helps!

Enjoy!

You hit on it.? ?I had imported a POTA activation adi from a few days ago that I had recorded in another program.? ?Sorting on date brought back all of the blue, worked colonies.? Do note that the report generated after closing the 13-Colonies view did show all of the worked colonies.

Best 73,??

Is there a fix for the ‘worked’ indicator in WSJT?
When I monitor and see a 13C station, WSJT marks it as worked because ACL knows that I worked it last year.?

So can ACL be limited to only searching this year for ‘worked’ stations?

I can monitor the worked this year with the ACL report but monitoring WSJT is difficult….

Hi Tony,

Thanks for your e-mail.? You could always just start a new log file for the current year 13 Colony event each year.

Enjoy!

it worked!? Thanks.
I took my Windows 7 machine offline once they weren't supporting it anymore, but decided it would?work for logging when I'm out and about!
